📋 Tasks and responsibilities
A public-sector IT department is seeking a senior engineer for a sensitive data intelligence environment. This role combines strong hands-on expertise in Linux, Windows Server and Docker with advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting and the Elastic (ELK) stack. The focus is on building and maintaining secure, traceable and compliant data pipelines, monitoring frameworks and analytics capabilities.
Mission objectives
- Strengthen data observability and monitoring capabilities
- Design and optimize end-to-end ELK-based architectures
- Improve data governance, auditability and reporting reliability
- Support advanced analytics and anomaly-detection use cases
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain ELK pipelines using Logstash, Elasticsearch and Kibana
- Develop advanced dashboards and reporting solutions aligned with business KPIs
- Implement data transformation, enrichment and data-quality controls
- Configure alerting, monitoring and anomaly-detection mechanisms
- Integrate the ELK stack with BI tools such as Power BI, Grafana and Tableau
- Ensure data security and access control, including encryption and secrets management
- Optimize the performance, scalability and reliability of data platforms
- Produce technical documentation and deliverables that meet audit requirements

Experience as an expert Business Intelligence analyst or engineer in IT.
Technical expertise
- Deep expertise in the ELK Stack
- Logstash: advanced pipeline design, scripting and parsing
- Elasticsearch: cluster architecture, indexing, aggregations and performance tuning
- Kibana: dashboards, visualisation and alerting
- Strong experience with Business Intelligence and data-reporting architectures
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, Windows Server and Docker environments
- Solid understanding of data-security principles, including encryption, access control and secrets management
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Ruby or Bash
- Experience with data modelling, analytics and pattern detection
- Integration experience with external systems and APIs
- At least 10 years of experience in data engineering, observability or monitoring systems, and Business Intelligence platforms
- Proven experience building scalable, secure and highly available data solutions
- Experience in regulated or high-sensitivity environments is a strong asset
- Essential skills: BI, Docker, ELK tools, Linux, Python, Ruby and Windows Server
