Simucube is known worldwide for high-performance sim racing hardware, and we're now taking that expertise further. Alongside our sim racing products, we're expanding into new areas such as flight simulation and professional and industrial simulator applications.

At the heart of Hervanta, Tampere, our skilled and warm-hearted team of almost 70 professionals designs products known for their top performance and high quality. With exciting projects underway and more about to launch, we're looking for two new colleagues to join our 10-person HW and electronics team to design the electronics for our upcoming products, from steering wheels, wheelbases and pedals to entirely new product categories.

The roles in a nutshell:

• These are full-time, permanent roles.
• We are located in Hervanta, Tampere. We offer overall flexible working conditions to our personnel, but these roles still require regular presence at the office.
• Start date is flexible and agreed together.
• The salary range is 4200€–5500€/month, depending on your experience and skills (architectural and system-level design experience, project skills, and capability to mentor others).

High-quality electronics from idea to implementation

As an Electronics Designer, you’re involved in the entire development process from concept to finished product - not just a small piece of the puzzle. You have plenty of independence in your work, but you’re never on your own. You will be working closely with the project team – mechanics, software, production, sales, and marketing – and there's always someone to bounce ideas off.

Our goal is to develop durable and user-friendly products that cater to the needs of our customers. Therefore, you get to strive for the best results whether it comes to tool selection or choosing high-quality components for circuit boards. The work also extends beyond the screen, as you will plan and carry out testing and validation, get hands-on with the products, and solve any issues that arise.

Even though your work mainly consists of electronics design, you are also able to extend your role based on your own skills and interests to, e.g., mechanics, software, simulations, EMC, approval processes, or production. As our R&D team is growing and we are continuously developing our ways of working, you also get to be part of the team and process development. 

What makes you thrive in our team

• A solid foundation in electronics design, both schematics and layout, ideally gained through hands-on work with embedded electronics products
• Understanding of how microcontrollers work as a whole, built through practical experience: peripherals, analog vs. digital signals, serial protocols, and different PHY interfaces
• Experience in analog signal processing, including different filter types and designing them for signal conditioning in the ADC path
• First-hand experience from an electronics point of view with a product evolving from idea to serial production
• Independent way of working, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to schedule and prioritize your own tasks and work
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and other diverse stakeholders
• Genuine interest in technology and drive to develop your skills in electronics design. Enjoy working on your own projects? You can work on them in your free time in our lab room equipped with professional tools.

As a Senior Electronics Designer, you also bring:

• Proven experience in electronics design, including products that have made it all the way to serial production
• Understanding of mass production manufacturing processes, techniques and materials, their possibilities, and DFM principles
• Deep understanding of noise sources, EMC and EMI, and how they affect the design process, as well as experience with product compliance and approval processes
• Experience in electronic circuit simulation, e.g. LTspice or similar tools
• Experience in architecture and system-level design, and in making technical decisions that affect the whole product
• Ability to take technical ownership of a product's electronics and drive the work forward within the project team
• Experience in mentoring and supporting other designers

Also, we'd be excited if you bring any or all of the following to the table:

• Experience with KiCad for PCB design
• Familiarity with embedded software development
• Hands-on skills in electromechanics and using Fusion 360 for design work
