About Lean Synergy Solutions

Lean Synergy Solutions is a veteran-first recruiting firm and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). We place veterans, transitioning service members, and mission-aligned talent across federal, commercial, and technical seats.

About the Opportunity

Lean Synergy Solutions is recruiting a Senior Electronic Security Engineer for our client, a 50-year veteran-owned federal technology contractor that designs, integrates, and sustains electronic and physical security systems for Department of Defense and federal facilities. This seat is designated Key Personnel on a federal contract. That means your resume is part of the contract record, and it is evaluated by the government against the contract's minimum experience, education, and certification requirements.

Position Summary

You will be the senior engineering lead for the design, integration, implementation, testing, and sustainment of electronic security systems: access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, alarm, and integrated security management. You will work directly with Government Project Leads, IPT Leads, systems engineers, and Contracting Officer's Representatives, and you will own the engineering documentation behind every system you touch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level engineering and technical expertise for the design, integration, implementation, testing, and sustainment of electronic security systems.
  • Lead the development, integration, and deployment of access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, alarm, and integrated security management systems.
  • Work with Government Project Leads, IPT Leads, systems engineers, CORs, and contractor personnel to define requirements and build security solutions that work.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering plans, system requirements, designs, technical specifications, test plans, and other technical documentation.
  • Evaluate electronic security technologies, products, and solutions; identify technical risk and recommend solutions that meet operational, technical, and security requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise through planning, design, testing, deployment, operation, troubleshooting, and long-term sustainment.
  • Travel to government sites up to 75% of the time for design, installation oversight, testing, and commissioning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited college or university. This is a contract requirement and cannot be substituted with experience.
  • 10+ years in the electronic security systems field, including engineering, design, integration, implementation, testing, or sustainment.
  • Technical leadership on complex electronic and physical security systems.
  • Experience writing and reviewing engineering documentation: system designs, technical specifications, test documentation, and other deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating with government customers, project managers, systems engineers, and security professionals.
  • Active Secret clearance held today, and the ability to maintain it.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Able to travel up to 75%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP). Holding both is strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Certified Systems Engineering and Integration Professional (CSEIP) or manufacturer certifications (LenelS2, Genetec, Software House, Bosch, and similar).
  • Hands-on experience with access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, alarm, security communications, and integrated security management systems.
  • Experience supporting DoD, federal, military, or other high-security environments.
  • Military veterans, including engineering officers and prior-enlisted engineers, strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $52.88 to $57.69 per hour (about $110,000 to $120,000 per year), based on experience.
  • Benefits: full benefits package through the hiring employer, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
  • Schedule: full time, on site in North Charleston with frequent travel to government sites.
  • Role distinction: a Key Personnel engineering seat on a federal security program.

How to Apply

Apply through Lean Synergy Solutions. Send your resume showing your engineering degree, years in electronic security, your clearance level, and every active certification with its number and expiration date. Because this is a Key Personnel seat, those details need to be clear on the resume itself. Qualified candidates complete a short screening call before submission. The hiring process is two interview rounds, followed by a background check and drug screen, then an offer.

Lean Synergy Solutions is an SDVOSB. Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses are strongly encouraged to apply. Employment is contingent on a background check, drug screen, and continued eligibility for a Secret clearance. Equal Opportunity Employer.
