Part-Time Senior Electrician — TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Required

Location: Springfield, VA (Fort Belvoir) | Work Location: Onsite

Schedule: Two - three days per week

ASRC Federal Field Services LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a part-time Senior Electrician to support a government customer onsite in Springfield, Virginia, at Fort Belvoir.

This position provides electrical maintenance support up to three days per week on-site for part-time work.

The Senior Electrician supports the safe operation and reliability of facility electrical systems through inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Work includes lighting, wiring, electrical panels, motors, transformers, and related equipment.

We’re looking for an experienced electrician who can work independently, identify problems, and use sound judgment when deciding what needs attention. The role also involves coordinating with other maintenance staff, planning work around facility operations, and providing technical guidance to less experienced team members.

Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. This is a required qualification and must be maintained throughout employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain facility electrical systems and equipment. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, identify worn or damaged components, and address conditions that could lead to equipment failure.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems using diagnostic instruments, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment drawings. Determine the cause of failures and complete repairs within the authorized scope of work.
  • Install, repair, and replace wiring, conduit, lighting, switches, relays, motors, and other electrical components as assigned. Test equipment after repairs to confirm proper operation.
  • Support electrical installations and upgrades, coordinating with maintenance and operations staff to limit disruption to facility activities.
  • Help plan maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs within the assigned part-time schedule. Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, test results, and outstanding issues.
  • Follow applicable electrical codes, safety standards, site procedures, and requirements for electrical isolation, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to electrical outages and urgent maintenance needs during scheduled work hours as assigned. Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and work requiring additional support.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor less experienced maintenance personnel as needed.

Security and Professional Responsibilities

  • Follow facility access restrictions, badging requirements, and procedures for classified or restricted areas.
  • Protect government information, equipment, and property encountered during assigned work. Maintain confidentiality about facility operations and activities.
  • Complete required security, safety, and facility training. Maintain required electrical safety certifications.
  • Maintain dependable attendance for assigned shifts and communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and customer personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph, with the ability to maintain the clearance and required facility access throughout employment.
  • Valid electrical license or certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience working on electrical systems, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals and use electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate with other trades, and provide technical guidance to junior personnel.
  • Ability to maintain maintenance records and use maintenance software.
  • Ability to perform physical electrical maintenance duties, including lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Availability to work onsite up to three days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience maintaining electrical systems in government, industrial, or similar facilities is preferred. Experience with large power distribution units (PDUs), DC rectifiers, and predictive maintenance technologies is also helpful.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is an onsite, part-time position with a schedule of up to three days per week. Assigned workdays and hours will be coordinated with site management based on facility needs.

Work includes hands-on maintenance in facility and equipment spaces and requires appropriate personal protective equipment. All work must follow facility access and safety requirements.
