Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Specialist will manage the OG plant's electrical PM program in close coordination with the Electrical Superintendent and the Electrical Supervisor. This includes developing SOPs for routine PMs along with enforcing timely completion. Direct supervision of Electrical & Instrumentation techs along with electrical contractors will be mandated by this position, or any other responsibility pertaining to Electrical and Controls systems maintenance as assigned.

Compensation

$105,000 - $135,000

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for plant additions and modifications as needed
• Provide technical training, including Arc Flash Safety
• Oversee and advise on major plant maintenance projects, capital projects, upgrades, and equipment repairs
• Prepare and review electrical building permits and engineering drawings for new plant capital/expansion projects
• Review new capital project equipment selection for electrical & instrumentation design
• Develop and maintain specifications for equipment selection
• Perform power system studies and maintain a database of completed studies
• Manage and direct contractors to perform PMs and repairs at the plant
• Implement necessary PMs to improve plant reliability
• Update network, controls system, and electrical drawings as needed
• Participate in, conduct, and manage electrical, controls, and instrumentation projects during kiln and finish mill outages
• Assist and provide support on capital improvement projects as assigned

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Requirements/Qualifications

• Required to travel to company facilities and other locations as needed
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
• Ability to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnel
• Ability to work at heights and in restricted spaces
• Physically able to climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment to access/inspect equipment

Preferred:

• Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD
• Field knowledge of industrial electrical work such as laying conduits, installing MCCs, wiring control system cabinets, reading/understanding electrical, instrumentation, and control systems wiring diagrams

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
