Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer

As Senior Reliability Engineer with Astranis, you will play a critical role in ensuring our spacecraft electronics and systems meet our reliability and availability needs. You’ll support the team in pushing the boundary of what is possible in a geo-synchronous spacecraft design and enable performance in space that has not been realized to date. You’ll ensure that Design for Reliability is at the forefront of our engineering processes.

Role

  • Collaborate with a broad and multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure that our spacecraft will operate reliably over their entire mission duration
  • Perform reliability and availability analysis using Reliability Block Diagrams and DFMEA
  • Advise engineers on optimal redundancy architecture
  • Support the engineering and production teams with design reviews, failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • Plan and manage EEE component tests, defining reliability targets, sample sizes, and stress conditions for internal or external test labs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or a related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience as a reliability, component, or electrical engineer
  • 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: physics of failure, semiconductor physics, design for reliability, functional safety, or accelerated testing
  • Experience in electrical design, including components, circuits, PCBs, or electronic assemblies
  • Experience in reliability statistics and data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Bonus

  • Experience performing failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations to provide corrective actions and paths to closure
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for electronic components
  • Knowledge of accelerated test profiles for component-level screening and qualification testing

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.Base Salary $135,000$235,000 USDU.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required
