  • Support the design team lead or project manager on larger projects, including undertaking technical design checks and contributing to reviews to ensure alignment with scope and standards.
  • Act as design lead on smaller or less complex projects, managing discipline inputs, programme, and commercial performance, and escalating risks or issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks within your workstreams, ensuring safe, compliant and buildable design solutions.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and key stakeholders, maintaining effective communication from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
  • Contribute to project meetings, workshops, and reviews, providing clear technical input and progressing actions.
  • Support the development of junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance, checking work, and contributing to their professional development.
  • Contribute to bid and tender activities, including supporting technical scope definition, input to methodology, and estimating for electrical elements.

Your career at WSP is in safe hands, we are fully committed to Continued Professional Development, and you will to be actively involved with professional institutions at regional and national levels. At WSP we can guarantee you:

  • Support from of one of the largest design teams in the country as part of a diverse global consultancy.

  • Experience of delivering feasibility, design, installation, maintenance, or technical assurance services within the EV and/or wider transportation (road/rail) sectors.
  • Experience of taking ownership of work packages, including responsibility for technical quality, programme, and cost performance.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with growing confidence in leading smaller projects or discipline packages.
  • Evidence of being a clear and effective communicator, able to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience contributing to multi-disciplinary coordination and design integration.
  • Working towards (or recently achieved) Engineering Council registration (IEng or CEng) and active membership of a relevant professional institution.
