Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Generation

The Senior Electrical Engineer provides technical engineering support at a power-generating plant, focusing on equipment reliability, performance improvement, and long-term asset planning. This role is responsible for supporting capital and O&M projects, conducting technical evaluations, and serving as a troubleshooting resource for plant operations and maintenance teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in power plant systems, project implementation experience, and the ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Technical Support
- Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support for plant electrical and mechanical systems
- Serve as a subject matter expert for operations and maintenance teams
- Conduct equipment inspections and evaluations to identify performance improvement opportunities
- Recommend system upgrades, modifications, and reliability enhancements
Project Management & Execution
- Manage capital and O&M projects from planning through execution
- Develop long-term equipment improvement plans and associated budgets
- Conduct analyses to develop design options and engineering recommendations
- Follow prescribed procedures and plant engineering standards
Engineering & Design
- Apply engineering principles to plant structures, systems, and components
- Develop and review technical documentation and project deliverables
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project success
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate effectively across operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams
- Build effective working relationships with plant staff and contractors
- Support multi-disciplinary project execution
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of related engineering experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within power plants
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to provide technical direction and implement engineering solutions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
