Job Description Summary

Senior EHS manager is responsible for managing all environment, health, and safety matters of the SEC2 BULK program spanning 14 work sites across Saudi Arabia. This role will report functionally to a PCS EHS leader and will also collaborate closely with other GEV Saudi Arabia businesses to ensure a unified EHS approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess the ability to lead and develop strategic EHS frameworks.
  • Responsible for all EHS KPIs and STOP WORK culture.
  • Ability to hire and train EHS resources to lead multicultural organizations and teams.
  • Drive implementation of GEV, regulatory and Customer EHS expectations within project activities, including at customer sites, workshops, etc.
  • Lead and ensure implementation of the Project EHS Plan and site procedures from pre-mobilization to demobilization.
  • Coordinate the GEV site EHS programs (Life Saving Rules, Contractor Management, ….) and assist the GEV Site Manager, Supervisors and Subcontractors in implementing it.
  • Actively support the Project operational team in his/her scope in EHS matters.
  • Develop strong working relationships with operational team in his/her scope and help drive the expected EHS performance and culture across all operations.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are available in his/her scope.
  • Work closely with the Program EHS Leader, and other GEV EHS teams in KSA.
  • Consolidate and drive EHS data.
  • Coordinate delivery of EHS training as required.
  • Coordinate with Regional EHS Leader incident investigation and ensure that investigations of accidents and compliance incidents are conducted, documented and reported as required.
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.
  • Ensure GEV, legal and Customer compliance in his/her in his scope
  • Implement and conduct audit programs to identify existing or potential EHS hazards and liabilities, determine corrective or preventative measures.
  • Conduct journey management surveys, site audit inspections, accommodation/canteen audits, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety management or other EHS-related technical discipline from an accredited college/university is required.
  • Minimum 8 years work experience in EHS, with specific focus on energy projects in Saudi Arabia
  • Ability to lead and develop strategic frameworks
  • Experience in resource planning, as well as the development of core processes, procedures, and long-term project planning.
  • Experience of leading EHS program development, implementation, and leadership experience with a focus on business segments such as electric power or similar industrial sector.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Must be fluent in Arabic and English languages

Eligibility Requirement

  • Must have the legal right to work in Saudi Arabia without company sponsorship or time restrictions.

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior experience working on Saudi Energy (SE) projects in an EHS capacity is highly desirable
  • Robust background in EHS contract management to ensure compliance and effective oversight.
  • Deep technical knowledge and a proven track record in contractor prequalification processes.
  • Experience managing teams cross-functionally and in a global multi-cultural organization
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with major environmental regulatory and permitting programs addressing subjects including but not limited to air quality, water quality, hazardous chemical management, industrial safety, etc.
  • Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
  • Professional certification/credentials in the areas of safety management, environmental management, industrial hygiene, or engineering that are issued by a recognized professional organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in the successful delivery of outstanding results through effective EHS program development, implementation, and management
  • Strong "consultant" skills, including the ability to influence and motivate leaders and employees through collaborative engagement and building/maintaining relationships
  • High energy, motivation and commitment to take personal ownership of issues and drive them to exceptional outcomes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyses and interpret technical reports and regulatory documents/standards, make sound judgments, and offer effective solutions
