Reporting to the Director of Resource Development and Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Economic Development Advisor is responsible for supporting economic and community development initiatives relating to Chapter 22 of the TH Final Agreement, in part through supporting the TH Government’s arms-length Community Economic Development Corporation. The incumbent also supports economic and business development associated with agreements with mining proponents. The incumbent establishesadministers policy and research opportunities within TH’s Traditional Territory in support of citizen participation in community and economic development opportunities. The incumbent advocates on behalf of the TH Government and citizen-owned businesses, and updates and maintains a TH business database. The incumbent identifies training and other professional development opportunities and conducts other research relating to business and community development mattersThe incumbent liaises with other TH entities involved in economic and business development and provides support to the Director and Executive Director in fostering positive and collaborative working relationships with these entities.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.
