Senior Ecologist - Hamilton

Are you an experienced ecology professional looking to move to the next level? WSP is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join our Hamilton, Waikato team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to lead impactful projects, work on both local and global projects, and make a positive difference in the wider Earth and Environment sector.

About the role:

  • Lead and manage ecological projects, from field surveys to data analysis and reporting
  • Provide expert advice on environmental and ecological matters
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and WSP’s high standards
  • Drive business development and contribute to the growth of our ecology services

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and ideally 9+ years’ professional experience
  • Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) – Ecology Specialist, or working towards it
  • Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels
  • Passion for delivering pragmatic, client-centric solutions
  • Commitment to WSP’s guiding principles: valuing people, fostering collaboration, and challenging the status quo
