About the Role

We're looking for a commercially minded Senior Ecommerce Executive to play a key role in delivering our ecommerce trading strategy across our distribution websites.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ecommerce or Trading Executive who's ready to take the next step in their career, combining hands-on trading with greater ownership, influence and leadership.

Working closely with the Trading Manager and wider Ecommerce team, you'll lead the delivery of key trading initiatives, optimise website performance, and use customer, commercial and market insight to drive profitable growth. You'll also champion best practice across the team, support the development of junior colleagues and take ownership of projects that directly contribute to our business plan.

If you enjoy solving problems, making commercially driven decisions and collaborating with teams across Marketing, Product, Tech and Analytics, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-paced ecommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the ecommerce trading strategy, driving revenue growth across our distribution websites.
  • Own the execution of the trading calendar, including merchandising, promotional activity and pricing strategies.
  • Lead key ecommerce projects, ensuring successful delivery against commercial objectives and business plan targets.
  • Monitor website performance, customer behaviour and trading metrics, identifying opportunities to improve conversion, revenue and customer experience.
  • Analyse commercial performance and competitor activity, using insight to recommend and implement trading improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with Marketing, Product, Technology and other key stakeholders to deliver successful campaigns.
  • Champion ecommerce best practice, helping to develop team processes, governance and ways of working.
  • Support and mentor junior team members while acting as a trusted deputy for the Trading Manager when required.

What We Need From You

  • Proven experience in an Ecommerce or Trading role within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret trading performance and turn insight into action.
  • Experience managing ecommerce trading calendars, merchandising activity and promotional campaigns.
  • Confident using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), content management systems and behavioural insight platforms such as Contentsquare or similar.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across multiple business functions.
  • A proactive, curious and solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge, investigate and continuously improve performance.
  • Comfortable working with data to support commercial decisions, with strong Excel skills and experience using BI tools being advantageous.

What's In It For You

  • 25 days holiday, increasing with service (up to 28)
  • Option to buy up to 10 extra days + 4 flexible bank holidays
  • 10% company pension
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • On-site gym
  • MediCash scheme
  • A range of flexible benefits and discounts, including up to 50% off Cavu products such as Escape Lounges and Airport Parking
  • Rail and retail discounts
  • 2 paid volunteering days per year
  • Access to health & wellbeing events, ID&E activities, and learning opportunities

About MAG (Airports Group)

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is the UK’s largest airports group. Collectively, MAG owns and operates three UK airports – Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands – alongside digital travel services business, CAVU.

Last year 54m passengers flew through our airports, and we contributed more than £8bn to the UK economy. MAG directly employs 7,000 people and supports more than 40,000 jobs across the supply chain.

We understand airports and air travel better than anyone. Our impact spans the length of the UK, with around 70% of the population living within a two-hour journey of a MAG airport. By working with a wide range of airlines to forge long-term partnerships that maximise the choice and value available to passengers, we have grown a large route network that connects people and businesses to the globe.

Looking ahead, we are ambitious and focused on making the future of travel better. We are investing in our airports to launch new routes, and give our passengers the best experience. In CAVU, we are using MAG’s decades of aviation experience and industry-leading consumer insights to revolutionise airport travel. And, running through everything we do, we are working confidently towards a sustainable future and achieving net zero for aviation by 2050.
