Job Description

• Build user-facing features with React and Next.js, focusing on performance, accessibility, and maintainability. • Implement and extend Drupal (10+) for a headless architecture, including custom modules, services, and integrations. • Design and consume APIs (JSON:API and/or GraphQL) that connect Drupal with the Next.js frontend. • Develop and maintain a reusable component/pattern library in Storybook to drive consistency and component-driven development. • Write and maintain tests: o Frontend: unit and integration tests with Jest and React Testing Library, including snapshot and mocking best practices. o Backend: acceptance tests with Behat (Gherkin) for content models, workflows, and permissions, using appropriate Mink drivers. • Optimize performance across the stack: Drupal caching (render cache and cache tags), SSR/SSG in Next.js, code splitting, and image optimization. • Ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), semantic HTML, robust ARIA usage, and keyboard navigation across components. • Uphold security best practices in both Drupal and Next.js (authentication, authorization, CSRF/XSS protection, secure configuration). • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product managers, and QA; participate in code reviews and component documentation. • Contribute to CI/CD workflows to automate builds, tests, linting, and deployments. • Document architecture, components, and testing approaches; share knowledge and improve the developer experience.
