The Role

Following our continued growth and success in winning and positioning ourselves to deliver major transport infrastructure projects across Western Australia and nationally, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Drafter – Roads & Highways to join our Perth team.

In this senior technical role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality design documentation across complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. You will act as a trusted technical specialist within the drafting function, providing guidance, oversight, and mentorship to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across project delivery.

Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects by driving best practice in drafting standards, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the ongoing growth and capability of the broader team.

About You

With a strong track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have developed your experience within an engineering design consultancy and bring a passion for technical excellence, leadership, and delivering high-quality project outcomes.

Suitable applicants will demonstrate:

  • 8+ years’ professional drafting experience, with significant exposure to roads and highways infrastructure projects
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (and/or MicroStation), with working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant drafting/model authoring tools
  • Strong understanding of local standards and specifications (e.g. MRWA experience highly regarded), with the ability to apply these across complex projects
  • Experience working within Common Data Environments, including ProjectWise and similar platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver drafting packages across medium to large-scale projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines
  • Proven capability to review, check, and approve drawings, maintaining high technical standards across all deliverables
  • Ability to provide guidance to junior and intermediate drafters
  • Strong coordination skills, with experience working effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes
  • Commercial awareness, including understanding project scope, programme, and delivery drivers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent tertiary qualification in Civil Drafting or a related discipline
