Job Description

About Us

At Transgrid, we’re delivering some of Australia’s most critical energy infrastructure, supporting the transition to a cleaner, more reliable electricity network. The Hunter Transmission Project (HTP) is a key part of this transformation, strengthening the grid to unlock renewable energy generation and support future demand across NSW. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a landmark project that will shape the state’s energy future while working alongside a high-performing and collaborative team.

About the Role

As the Senior Document Controller you will lead document control activities for a major contract package (either Transmission Line or Substations) during the HTP Delivery Phase. You will ensure all project documentation is processed, version controlled, and distributed in accordance with approved standards and procedures.

Working closely with the technical, commercial, and delivery functions, the position provides day‑to‑day guidance to project teams, ensures consistent application of standards, and proactively identifies and escalates document control risks or compliance issues.

Note, this position can be based in either Newcastle or Sydney.

About You

  • Extensive document control experience on major infrastructure, utilities, or complex construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of document control and information management systems, such as InEight (Teambinder) and SharePoint and experience configuring the systems to project-specific requirements
  • Strong knowledge of document control discipline, with solid experience in managing structured contractor document submissions and review workflows.
  • Experience working in similar contract environments with solid understanding of contract administration imperatives as applied to document control.
  • High attention to detail with proven ability to manage large volumes of documentation and coordinate effectively with contractors and stakeholders.

About Transgrid

We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 11,517 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 136 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC.

Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation.

We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation.

As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind.

Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.
