Modivcare is looking for an experienced Senior Director - Transportation Operations to join our team. In this role, you will drive the success of the Multimodal Mobility strategy at the operational level while supporting market share growth of multimodal solutions across the transportation network. This position serves as a key operational leader focused on transportation performance, network optimization, provider management, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. This role…

  • Owns end-to-end cost, service, and performance outcomes for all Transportation Provider (TP) moves within the assigned geography, including full regional transportation P&L accountability.
  • Leads strategic, large-scale operational and network initiatives for the Mobility business, prioritizing projects with the greatest business impact.
  • Directs transportation operating model execution, including onboarding, integration, network development, and implementation of new delivery techniques and transportation models.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between technology initiatives and the Transportation Provider network, establishing best practices, standard work, and network digitization efforts.
  • Sets clear expectations and accountability standards for Transportation Managers through coaching, performance management, and operational oversight.
  • Builds and executes capacity planning strategies and action plans in partnership with transportation leadership teams.
  • Removes operational blockers and solves complex transportation and service delivery challenges.
  • Ensures strong project governance and execution discipline by defining milestones, maintaining schedules, documenting decisions, and driving accountability to results.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Client teams, Finance, HR, Safety, and Technology to align priorities and secure resources.
  • Oversees vehicle procurement and maintenance activities to ensure operational readiness and cost control.
  • Maintains provider compliance and credentialing oversight while ensuring adherence to operational and contractual standards.
  • Leads provider performance management activities including corrective actions, performance reviews, settlement deductions, and liquidated damages administration.
  • Maintains accurate client and contract records, including renewals, payment methodologies, and shared-service offerings.
  • Analyzes key operational metrics including utilization, mileage, cost, and RNS trends to support strategic decision-making and executive reporting.
  • Manages escalated customer complaints and leads mitigation and resolution initiatives including CAP, QIP, and PIP processes.
  • Supports client growth and retention through stakeholder management, collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams, and implementation and offboarding activities.
  • Leads projects and additional operational initiatives that contribute to organizational success.
  • Requires occasional business travel as needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Twelve (12) plus years of professional experience required.
  • Eight (8) plus years of leadership responsibility required.
  • Experience in transportation operations leadership preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills supported by excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive action and solve operational challenges effectively.
  • Strong delegation and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply reasoning and sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage complex operational priorities systematically.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams while influencing others toward common goals.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to identify and implement solutions that meet customer needs.
  • High level of financial and operational business acumen.
  • Strong project management and operational execution skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives and drive operational improvements.

Salary: $133,300-$169,900

This role is bonus eligible based on individual and company performance.
