Senior Director, Strategy & Business Enablement

Join Evernorth Care Management and Express Scripts as a Senior Director, Strategy & Business Enablement, where you will shape enterprise strategy, accelerate execution of critical priorities, and help define the future direction of the business. In this highly visible leadership role, you will guide strategic planning, governance, executive decision-making, and growth initiatives while ensuring the organization translates strategy into measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and refinement of business segment strategy, translating market insights, financial considerations, organizational priorities, and performance trends into actionable multi-year roadmaps.
  • Advance the Lead to One agenda in partnership with Enterprise Strategy and senior business leaders.
  • Design and lead governance forums, planning processes, and operating cadences that align stakeholders around priorities, investments, risk management, and execution.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by framing strategic issues, developing executive-level communications, and supporting key decisions with clear recommendations and analysis.
  • Identify, evaluate, and advance strategic growth opportunities, partnerships, and new business concepts through market assessments, business cases, and strategic fit analyses.
  • Enable enterprise strategy execution through governance models, prioritization frameworks, communications plans, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Drive alignment across Evernorth Care Management and Express Scripts leadership teams through structured communication forums, planning sessions, governance reviews, and town halls.
  • Lead executive communications and enterprise messaging to ensure strategic priorities are effectively cascaded throughout the organization.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing strategy team while strengthening enterprise thinking, executive storytelling, planning disciplines, and business acumen.
  • Create scalable tools, frameworks, and standards that improve strategic planning and execution across the enterprise.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise strategy, business development, corporate planning, consulting, transformation, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading highly visible strategic initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and operating effectively within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, facilitation, decision-support, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and organizational judgment with the ability to evaluate complex business issues and opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of strategic planning, governance design, business case development, performance management, and strategy-to-execution disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced education in Business, Strategy, Finance, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare services, pharmacy benefit management, care management, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting board-level presentations, executive communications, and enterprise transformation efforts.
  • Track record of leading strategic growth, partnership development, or business expansion initiatives.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 196,600 - 327,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
