The Senior Director sits within the Performance team at THE·TEAM, part of the Brands and Properties division. Our focus is to provide a quicker path to audience and commercial growth - bringing fans closer to what they love, and our clients closer to fans to maximise ROI. We are a team of passionate, creative and innovative experts from across the globe who are redefining what digital sponsorship looks like.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who operates with authority across complex accounts and multiple client scopes simultaneously. The Senior Director is a recognised strategic voice in the room - someone who brings thorough understanding of performance marketing and the full sports and entertainment landscape, builds high-trust senior stakeholder relationships and shapes how the agency wins and retains business.
We are looking for a commercially sharp, deeply networked operator who leads with conviction, deals confidently with complex and challenging situations, and elevates the team around them. This role reports into the Vice President.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Client & Commercial Leadership
- Own and manage multiple senior client scopes simultaneously, ensuring commercial performance and client satisfaction across all accounts.
- Deliver seamless financial management across all accounts including complex situations - forecasting, reconciliation and budget oversight.
- Lead with scope retention and renewal; identify and convert opportunities for organic growth and incremental revenue.
- Provide clients with strategic insight on what information means for their business; act as a senior thought lead in all client interactions.
- Craft compelling stories and strategic narratives independently, with minimal senior review.
- Deal confidently and constructively with complex and challenging client, supplier and internal situations.
Strategy & Business Development
- Lead pitch responses and new business proposals; act as a key contributor to RFPs, commercial scopes and agency positioning.
- Leverage an established external network for new opportunities, market intelligence and partnership development.
- Drive innovation across service models, tools and methodologies - including AI and emerging technologies - to evolve how the team delivers.
- Stay ahead of the digital marketing ecosystem and sports and entertainment landscape; bring relevant trends and developments into client conversations.
Team & Operational Leadership
- Manage and develop team members across multiple workstreams; set clear standards and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Operate with wide understanding of business tracking across the financial year; feed into annual planning and commercial forecasting.
- Continually seek opportunities to drive efficiency and improve the way the team works.
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviours, professionalism and emotional maturity in all client-facing and internal interactions.
- Reports directly into the Performance leadership team; acts as a key operational link for the UK account team, escalating priorities and surfacing the insights that inform business decisions.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
- 7–10+ years of digital marketing or performance marketing experience, with a significant proportion in a senior agency role.
- Thorough understanding of the performance marketing landscape - paid media, data and analytics, technology platforms and the wider sports and entertainment ecosystem.
- A strong, established industry network that can be leveraged for new business and market intelligence.
- Proven track record managing multiple large, complex client accounts simultaneously with full commercial accountability.
- Confident, authoritative communicator; able to craft and deliver complex narratives independently at senior stakeholder level.
- Commercially astute - comfortable with financial forecasting, margin management and scope development.
- Calm under pressure; able to navigate challenging conversations and complex situations with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Highly organised with strong ability to prioritise across self and team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with analytics platforms, CRM tools and reporting frameworks.
- Passion for sport, music and entertainment - genuine interest in the industry is essential
