
The Senior Director of Technology, Construction role is responsible for providing both daily and strategic leadership and direction of information technology and service, including business technology initiatives, enterprise software, applications development, support and maintenance. The position plays a lead role in applying new and emerging technologies and processes to help solve business challenges across the business and enterprise technology. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to organizational leaders across the construction sectors including Mission Critical, Pre-Construction and Operational Excellence. The Senior Director is responsible for aligning current technology needs, how it aligns to the overall Ryan Technology and organization technology goals. This role will collaborate and communicate within an expanding matrixed organization and be responsible for employee and contractor performance management.
Some things you can expect to do:
Be the primary relationship owner to construction for the technology team to identify, prioritize, and deliver tactical and strategic technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Partner with business owners to define, estimate, and assess risks and returns on technology and business project investments while aligning with broader organizational priorities.
Foster innovation, coordinating the evaluation and management of current and future Technology initiatives with technology and business stakeholders to create effective solutions, service quality and business development.
Provides leadership, guidance, career pathing and performance management to multiple diverse-skilled Technology teams of FTE and contractor resources responsible for operations and execution of business systems and services that achieve high levels of customer satisfaction both internally and externally.
Continue to define and align the technology portfolio with business and technology leadership, enabling Ryan Companies to be nimble and efficient within their existing and emerging technologies.
Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of resources in technology, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
Manage technology teams that engage with production and operations support, operations and infrastructure groups (internal and vendors) to provide reliable and stable application services.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers critical to achieving business objectives, including contract negotiations and service level agreements.
Identify, communicate and work to improve inefficient, deficient or missing processes while maintaining existing Technology policies, standards, and processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
To be successful in this role you must have:
Previous technology leadership within construction industry experience strongly considered.
Demonstrative ability to forge strategic partnerships with business leaders, technology partners and 3rd party leaders to innovate technology solutions for Ryan Companies initiatives.
Experienced strategic thinker that can put thought into actionable results
Proven people management areas including goal setting, performance management, providing regular feedback & coaching, and recognition
Strong oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with key internal clients and the senior technology team, who can transform complex technical language into easily understood concepts.
Experienced technology leader with background in software development, infrastructure, security or related areas of information technology.
Strong project management knowledge and meeting organization and facilitation skills.
Strong understanding of Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, DevOps or solution delivery methodology.
Ability to understand complex and multi-platform business flow.
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, both within the IT department and throughout the company.
Ability to perform in a lean work environment and be hands-on involved in all areas of responsibility.
Ability to initiate, organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple and complex projects.
Compensation:
The annual base salary is $161,900 - $210,000 and may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
