Shape how a premier law firm attracts and secures top legal and business talent

Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, a global leader in intellectual property law, is seeking a Senior Director of Talent Acquisition to lead firmwide recruiting strategy and operations across attorneys and business services. This role focuses on ensuring the firm’s approach to hiring is disciplined, scalable, and aligned with strategic growth priorities.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Senior Director will shape and operationalize the firm’s talent acquisition strategy, bringing structure, consistency, and rigor to recruiting processes, workforce planning, and market engagement while partnering closely with firm leadership to build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline.

The role in action:

  • Drive a disciplined and market-informed recruiting approach and execution firmwide
  • Translate firm priorities into integrated hiring and workforce planning strategies
  • Optimize recruiting processes, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes
  • Lead attorney and business services recruiting across all channels
  • Establish clear metrics and accountability across Talent Acquisition
  • Use market insight and data to inform hiring strategy and decisions
  • Build and lead a high-performing, scalable Talent Acquisition function

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Bring significant experience leading recruiting or talent acquisition within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Have partnered with senior leadership on hiring strategy and workforce planning
  • Understand how recruiting drives firm growth, performance, and talent quality
  • Demonstrate strength in building scalable recruiting processes and teams
  • Use data, market intelligence, and metrics to guide hiring decisions
  • Lead with credibility, execution discipline, and strong stakeholder engagement
  • Possess 10+ years of relevant experience; law firm experience strongly preferred; JD or advanced degree a plus
