The Senior Director of Architecture provides senior-level technical leadership and architectural direction for Clean Harbors’ enterprise platforms and applications. This role is accountable for ensuring architectural solutions align with enterprise standards, platform strategy, and business objectives, while enabling secure, scalable, and resilient systems.

Identify technical debt, modernization needs, and architectural gaps across platforms.
Champion improvements that enhance production stability, operational readiness, and maintainability.
Support ongoing modernization efforts in alignment with Clean Harbors technology standards and strategy.
Strategic Alignment & Business Partnership
Align architectural decisions with platform vision, roadmaps, and long-term business strategy.
Serve as a senior technical advisor to Platform Owners, Product Owners, and Engineering leadership.
Balance near-term delivery needs with long-term architectural health and enterprise consistency.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Related field required (Masters degree preferred)
Demonstrated experience in leading architecture team(s) in delivering distributedsolutions
Experiencewitharchitectingdistributedsystemswhicharehighlyscalable,availableandfault tolerance. Understand and are conversant in software architecture and designpatterns;
Experience with architecting applications for the Azure using App Services, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, Event Grid, Service busetc;
Experience Implementing Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zoneframework;
Expert level experience in Microsoft Technologies e.g. Microsoft .Net Framework v5.0 or above, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Web API, MVC &Angular;
StrongunderstandingofconceptslikeSOA,DomainDrivenDesign,EventSourcingandREST API;
Strong experience in the database systems anddesign;
Knowledgeandexperienceworkingwithrelationaldatabasesincludingdevelopment, troubleshooting, and performanceoptimization;
Knowledge in other data storescapabilities;
Experience with SOA/REST Services/WebAPI/Microservices;
Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery and other DevOpspractices;
Demonstrated experience with working on Security and CISO team(s) in building secure applications & fault redundantsystems;
Knowledgeofdatastructures,algorithms,object-orienteddesign,designpatterns,and performance/scaleconsiderations;
