Job Description

Offering $185,000- $225,000 / annual

Responsible for oversight of the general accounting, fixed asset and lease accounting, and restaurant accounting groups. Those groups are responsible for the monthly close process, corporate consolidation, and the complete and accurate accounting of revenues, cost of sales, inventory, rent expense, capital expenditures, wage and benefit expense and general and administrative costs. In addition, you will serve as the business owner of the general ledger, asset management, restaurant accounting and project costing modules in Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a centralized accounting department of approximately 12 employees with responsibility for all 600+ restaurants owned by YEI as well as all corporate functions.
  • Work closely with corporate and brand teams, balancing excellent customer service with an efficient process.
  • Ensure that all controls are functionally effectively.
  • Provide overall accounting leadership to the company, including guidance on appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Work to improve existing processes to ensure scalability to support the company’s growth plans.
  • Manage and motivate your team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. Active CPA license required.
  • 12-15 years prior experience, including 5-7 years experience supervising other employees.
  • Experience with Sage Intact and systems upgrades and/or implementations preferred.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems preferred.
  • Self-directed, highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, yet able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including in an executive forum.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, operations, procurement and brand finance.
  • Strong customer service ethic – must understand and agree that our job is to make the other employees’ lives easier so that they can do a better job serving our customers!
