The Senior Director, Mission Architectures & Assessments (MA&A), leads the development, assessment and demonstration of integrated mission capabilities from across the Mission Systems sector, and, as appropriate, including capabilities from other sectors, through mission-level modeling, simulation & analysis (MS&A); strategic demonstrations; and Government exercise participation. To execute this charter, the Senior Director works closely with designated Division leads (typically from the Division Strategy & Mission Solutions or similar teams) and technical leadership from Engineering & Sciences (E&S), along with appropriate points of contact from the other sectors and the Corporate office.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate across Divisions and the functions to provide strategic organizational leadership for the sector’s Mission Engineering and related activities.

  • Facilitate sector-level coordination and review of cross-division MS&A, CRADAs, demonstration activities and participation in Government exercises to ensure necessary synchronization and collaboration. Through this coordination, the reviews ensure alignment and visibility, technical excellence, and drive consistency and efficiency across the sector.

  • Lead the execution of Sector Operating Objectives (SOO).

  • Working in close coordination with ECD and the Divisions, drive the creation and capture of contract-funded MS&A opportunities (CRAD) that are specifically and well-aligned to the sector’s MS&A priorities.

  • Serve as the sector’s lead for Corporate-sponsored mission engineering activities.

  • Serve as the sector’s focal point for the Corporate Portfolio Program (CPP) by:

    • Coordinating MS-centric CPP collaboration and projects

    • Representing MS during Corporate-level CPP-related activities, projects/workstreams, and campaigns

    • Coordinating with sector Security regular roster reviews

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related degree and 12 or more years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Experience in system engineering, modeling and architecture analysis.

  • 5 or more years of demonstrated success in managing projects to cost, performance, and schedule requirements.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication across diverse teams

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with defense contracting frameworks and the nuances of Aerospace and Defense program management; experience across defense systems in space, air, ground, sea, cyber

  • Detailed knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense planning, program creation, and program management processes

  • Advanced technical degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences

  • Experience with campaign-level systems of systems analysis

Primary Level Salary Range: $231,100.00 - $346,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
