Senior Director of Human Resources

Position Summary
PMX is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership and direction for the Human Resources, Safety, and Security functions. This position serves as a key member of the Company’s leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing programs, policies, and initiatives that support the Company’s overall business objectives.
The Senior Director will provide both strategic and hands-on leadership across employee relations, labor relations, benefits, compliance, safety, security, organizational development, and departmental operations. This position will work closely with leaders throughout the organization to promote a positive work environment, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the Company’s workforce and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Human Resources, Safety, and Security functions, including establishing departmental goals, objectives, business plans, budgets, and performance expectations.
- Serve as a member of the Company’s leadership team, providing HR expertise and guidance on organizational matters while promoting a positive, respectful, productive, and collaborative work environment.
- Lead the collective bargaining process, including serving as chief negotiator for labor contract negotiations, interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements, and overseeing the grievance and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Develop, implement, and ensure the consistent administration of Company policies, procedures, and guidelines, while providing guidance to leaders and supervisors on employee relations and workplace issues.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs, including health and retirement plans, and maintain responsibility for ERISA administration, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary responsibilities related to Company retirement plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to employment, safety, benefits, and other areas of responsibility, as well as maintaining required HR, safety, and security records and documentation.
- Provide leadership and support for the Company’s safety programs and initiatives, working with department leaders to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.
- Lead process improvement and organizational effectiveness initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, communication, and collaboration across Human Resources, Safety, Security, and other areas of the organization.
- Ensure departmental compliance with the Company’s Quality Management System and ISO processes, and ensure required daily, monthly, and annual reports, metrics, and forecasts are completed accurately and timely.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in production facilities. The employee is expected to follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures and work in a manner that protects themselves, coworkers, and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
Department Structure / Reporting Relationship:
The Senior Director of Human Resources provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the Human Resources, Safety, and Security functions. The HR Manager and the Director of Safety and Security report directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources and are responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of their respective departments and teams.
This position provides leadership, guidance, accountability, and support to these department leaders while establishing and maintaining consistent policies, procedures, goals, and organizational priorities across the functions. The Senior Director is not intended to directly supervise all employees within the Human Resources, Safety, and Security departments, but rather leads through the respective department managers and supervisors.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant experience in labor relations and collective bargaining, preferably in a manufacturing or unionized environment.
- Experience leading and developing HR teams.
- Experience administering employee benefit programs, retirement plans, and ERISA-related responsibilities.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with safety and security functions is preferred.

- Must be able to communicate effectively in English for all business and job-related transactions.
