The Senior Director of HR Business Solutions will accountable for designing and leading strategic initiatives aimed at solving the company’s most pressing business challenges through integrated HR strategies and capabilities. Working closely with Strategic HR Business Leaders and Centers of Excellence (COEs), you will be accountable for forming and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams that deploy flexibly across top business priorities identified through the Integrated Business and Talent Planning process. This is a pivotal leadership role for a strategic thinker and people leader who excels at driving change, aligning stakeholders, and scaling HR’s business impact.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $169,000 - $185,000 + annual bonus + equity

  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a group within the HR Business Solutions Team in deploying flexibly to initiatives prioritized through the Integrated Business and Talent Planning process, setting the strategic direction for how HR resources are mobilized against enterprise priorities.
  • Act as a senior architect of cross-functional HR solutions, building strong executive partnership across business units, Strategic HR Business Leaders, COEs, and Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, repeatable talent solutions aligned with business goals across operations, transformation initiatives, and workforce strategy.
  • Translate open-ended, high-level business needs into structured programs and action plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Serve as a key interface between business and HR, ensuring seamless integration of COE-designed tools, practices, and experiences.
  • Act as chief communicator and representative partner on behalf of the Business Solutions Team in enterprise governance, prioritization, and resource allocation discussions.
  • Champion an agile operating model, embedding iterative design, user feedback, and continuous improvement into every solution.
  • Lead talent development and succession planning within the Business Solutions Team, cultivating generalists and specialists to meet future business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR, management consulting, or business operations, with experience in strategic workforce planning, organizational design, and/or talent strategy
  • Proven track record of analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Executive presence with strong communication, influencing, and facilitation skills across multiple levels of leadership
  • Commitment to inclusivity and user-centered design in people strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in decision-making
  • Ability to lead with a consultative approach and provide guidance and advice when needed.
  • Passion for team leadership, coaching, and organizational capability building.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational transformation, change leadership, or enterprise portfolio management a plus

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $169,000 - $185,000 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
