Job Category: ProfessionalIn an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Senior Director, Heart and Vascular is responsible for developing long term business plans to expand cardiovascular services, drive market growth, and improve the overall cost and quality of care. Manages overall budget, oversees resource allocation, ensures cost efficiency and develops business plans for new technologies. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation. Responsible for all quality metrics and care delivery. Collaborates heavily with physician leaders to recruit top talent, mentor clinical teams, and foster high provider engagement. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
- Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the Heart and Vascular Institute.
- Will partner with appropriate physician leaders to ensure the service line is appropriately resourced in both personnel and other needed resources.
- Accountable for the monitoring on ongoing quality of all Heart and Vascular clinical services.
- Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
- Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance.
- Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience Required:
- Master’s Degree in a business or healthcare related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of Hospital operations, Service Line based leadership, nursing leadership, or clinical administration experience required.
- Experience in Cardiovascular operations preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
- Highly skilled in communicating with both providers and executives.
- Ability to oversee multiple departments, budgets, and staff.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and public speaking to represent the service line preferred.
Compensation Details: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
