We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Senior Director, Head of Technology to take a lead on technology and information security strategy and management for Hong Kong and China, as well as technology governance in line with Computershare’s future responsibilities in a regulated regime. This role will report into the APAC CTO and the successful individual will be part of Computershare Technology Services (CTS).
Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services has two core internal business units. Issuer Services business which is currently the market leader for Register Maintenance within Hong Kong with 900+ clients. Plan Managers, also a market leader within Asia currently supporting 200+ clients with some of the world’s largest companies for Share Plan Administration. These businesses are located across Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, with approx. 400 internal staff.
The government in Hong Kong is currently working towards the ‘dematerialization’ of share certificates and the creation of an uncertificated securities market (USM). It is a multi-year project and, once it’s complete, Computershare will be a regulated business for share registry services, in addition to its on-going Type-One license obligations for dealing services.
A role you will love
In this role, you will be an interface to global development, global service delivery and global information security teams for all technology services. Manage into the global service delivery function and work closely with the Asia Technology Operations team to continually deliver quality service to the Asia businesses.
This role requires working very closely with the business to align the technology to the business needs, including for the upcoming USM environment. This involves providing IT representation on executive committees, taking accountability for IT governance, risk and compliance, managing and maintaining technology operations with Asia, including vendor management, and responding to technology related client enquiries and audits. The role will be responsible for the successful delivery of regional specific technology projects and will manage controllable costs.

What will you bring to the role?
You are a well-rounded technology leader who has strong leadership capabilities across all major aspects of technology delivery, including information security. You have a strong understanding of financial services, their offerings and culture, and a solid customer and market driven orientation. Experience working with global teams is a must with a proven track record in successfully managing internal and external service providers is required.
You will have significant experience working with senior stakeholders on the strategy and execution of complex operating environments and the ability to communicate with senior stakeholders, being prepared to challenge and contribute ideas in a supportive and collaborative forum.
You will provide leadership and support to the local technology team, drive a cross functional IT group to improve proactive end-to-end service in development and support as well as driving technology core values within the regional technology team. You would have to be comfortable working with a diverse culture and will possess an open and flexible approach to working with others.
