We are looking for a Senior Director, Fraud Prevention & Platform Integrity to continue evolving Viber’s fraud prevention and platform protection strategy. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can take an existing foundation and scale it into a broader, more strategic capability as Viber continues to grow its consumer, business and fintech ecosystems.
The role will lead the strategy, operating model and execution for protecting Viber’s users, revenue, fintech flows, business ecosystem and platform trust from fraud, abuse, phishing, account takeover, scams, financial crime and emerging threats.
Responsibilities
- Continue evolving Viber’s fraud prevention and platform integrity strategy across fintech, payments, business messaging, subscriptions, partner ecosystems and platform abuse scenarios.
- Lead and mature the operating model for fraud prevention, AML risk signals, financial-crime controls, investigations, escalation, measurement and response.
- Own the strategy for detecting and reducing payment fraud, scams, account abuse, phishing, account takeover, suspicious behavior and other emerging risk patterns.
- Build on an already high-performing platform integrity function and take it to the next level by scaling trust operations, abuse prevention, account integrity, investigation workflows, and enforcement quality across Viber’s global ecosystem
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Support and business teams to align risk strategy with company priorities.
- Define requirements for detection systems, risk signals, rules, models, dashboards, case queues, analyst tooling and feedback loops, while working closely with engineering teams that build and operate the platforms.
- Use data, automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve investigation speed, detection quality, analyst productivity and operational scalability.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of analysts, researchers and domain experts.
- Build executive visibility into key risks, including fraud exposure, prevented loss, financial-crime risk, platform abuse trends, enforcement quality, false positives and response effectiveness.
- Represent the function in senior leadership discussions and translate complex fraud, AML and integrity topics into clear business decisions and priorities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing fraud, risk, investigations, AML, integrity, compliance operations or trust/safety teams.
- Strong experience with fraud-prevention systems, AML controls, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity detection, case management, investigation workflows and financial-crime risk.
- Deep understanding of fraud and abuse patterns such as payment fraud, mule activity, account takeover, phishing, scams, synthetic identities and platform misuse.
- Experience working with data, rules, models, risk scoring, operational queues, escalation processes, dashboards and feedback loops.
- Proven ability to partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Support and Operations teams.
- Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to explain complex and sensitive risk topics clearly to senior leadership.
- Strong judgment around false positives, user experience, business impact, regulatory exposure, operational cost and speed of response.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
