Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 18 years of experience in technology and corporate engineering.
  • 15 years of management experience in enterprise internal systems.
  • International experience working across geographies.
  • Experience with managing global, multiple cross-functional teams or projects, and working with senior-level management and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a complex, global organization of large-scale in a regulated environment.
  • Experience delivering financial capabilities across a portfolio of first-party and third-party systems.
  • Experience operating and facilitating process transformation initiatives on enterprise-scale platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA).
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work with multiple business constituencies, balance resources, and ensure alignment of technology strategy with the business vision.

As the Senior Director of Finance Engineering, you will be a business and technology strategist who will be responsible for unifying and transforming the technology landscape for finance functions globally. You will oversee these teams to ensure that Google's financial infrastructure is AI-forward, innovative, secure, and strictly aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements. You'll lead, inspire, and upskill a global organization of 200+ technologists. Google is looking for a dynamic technology leader who works comfortably in a transforming product organization to redefine how works get done with an AI-forward approach. In this role, you will direct the planning, implementation, and support of technology systems to drive value creation and support business operations. You will forge successful working relationships with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment and balance long-term strategic vision.

We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $336,000-$467,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop the technical strategy, vision, and desired outcomes for finance engineering systems that are aligned with the AI forward product strategy.
  • Build capabilities across the finance value streams and influence finance process development in line with regulatory requirements and business outcomes.
  • Ensure integrity of financial reporting through implementation/monitoring of robust internal controls and security protocols.
  • Oversee quote-to-report, record-to-report, and revenue accounting systems, ensuring high-volume transaction processing accuracy and compliance. Lead engineering support for long-range planning, annual operating plan, spend management, forecasting, allocations, internal management reporting.
  • Lead engineering support for treasury operations, global tax compliance (direct/indirect), and international statutory reporting. Partner closely with SAP Center of Excellence to ensure architecture and performance of SAP systems are strictly aligned with financial strategy and regulatory requirements.
