Job Summary:

Responsible for execution and completion of capital projects within assigned regions. Critical duties are regional master planning, advanced project management, oversight of project scope, estimate, budget, schedule, and direct management of project management staff.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients and executive level stakeholders, serving as a strategic partner.
  • Regional and system leader in project management (program, schedule, equipment plans, occupancy, operationalization, and closeout). Manages a project change control process to ensure the project team complies with the scope and change approval process
  • Collaborate with the system’s strategic planning team on assigned initiatives
  • Supervises, approves and is responsible for budgets, schedules, goals, business planning, and executive level reporting for the business units assigned. This will include monthly meetings with regional administrative leaders for project updates and strategic project planning.
  • Communicates effectively with all key project stakeholders at required intervals and throughout the project lifecycle. Provides executive-level updates to regional leaders at regular intervals. Also provides executive reporting to AVP for system management of all capital projects.
  • Uses strategic thinking to anticipate potential hurdles for on-time, on-budget project completion. Applies expert insight to determine and execute counterstrategies.
  • Manages and monitors projects to ensure compliance with system standards and specifications. Assists in the development of system compliance processes.
  • Assists in the negotiation of all major consultant contracts and agreements and makes recommendations to AVP for final approval.
  • Ability to manage, train, and mentor Geisinger employees and consultants by putting together individual training plans for direct reports and workplans for the consultants.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, and manage high functioning project teams.
  • Successfully manages staff and multiple projects simultaneously, including Master Facility Plan-level projects.
  • Read, understand, and apply tactics outlined in the Geisinger project manager manual. Plays a key role in building, maintaining, and educating staff on the project management manual.
  • Follows all relevant policies and procedures. Contributes to the ongoing development and refinement of policies and procedures.
