Our vision is for Oracle employees to have a frictionless experience with the systems they use every day. Employees should find what they need easily and complete tasks quickly and reliably, with systems that work seamlessly together and provide useful AI assistance. We connect systems, process and policy to remove confusing steps, repeated work and delays, and measure whether changes improve everyday tasks for employees.
Hire and lead the Employee Experience Solution Engineering group, owning technical strategy, engineering investment and delivery outcomes across Fusion and other key employee platforms spanning 10 key value streams. Translate executive direction into an engineering strategy and execution plan. Lead rapid execution through maintainable extensions, integrations, automation and AI applications built with Oracle systems teams. Develop leadership capability and be accountable for the group budget and cost control within delegated authority. Work hand in hand with the Senior Director of Employee Experience Strategy to deliver the vision and mission, turning employee needs and UX strategy into reliable solutions with measurable results.
· Own group engineering strategy and execution planning. Jointly shape the solution roadmap with the Senior Director of Employee Experience Strategy. Define the architecture, technical roadmap and capability plan for prioritized employee journeys, agreeing feasibility, sequencing and experience outcomes together. Align engineering investments with Employee Systems and line-of-business strategy, and advise executives on technical opportunities, constraints and portfolio tradeoffs. Develop and communicate the strategy in partnership with technical teams that own the applications and business teams accountable for functional outcomes.
· Own the group budget. Prepare and manage engineering operating and investment budgets, including staffing, cloud consumption, tools and partner services. Forecast demand, allocate approved capacity, control costs and explain variances within delegated spending authority.
· Resolve solution choices across systems. Assess existing and planned Oracle capabilities, configuration and reuse before custom development. Lead architecture and integration decisions across application boundaries, agreeing data access, interfaces, dependencies and platform constraints with system owners.
· Lead rapid engineering execution. Partner with product and design specialists on prototypes, design reviews and usability validation, then direct production solutions across architecture, AI, integration and automation. Own estimates, technical delivery commitments, code quality, automated testing and acceptance evidence for the group’s assigned scope.
· Engineer AI-enabled experiences that meet employees where they are. Build AI applications, search and workflow capabilities where employee needs justify them. Require evaluations, permissions, monitoring, latency measures and fallback behavior before production use. Consistently test usefulness with employees and the Employee Experience Strategy team, and verify employee value after release.
· Own technical quality and maintainability. Establish secure development, observability, performance, release and rollback practices. Diagnose issues with system owners, including platform load times. Implement approved workflow and policy rules with traceable tests and named support owners.
· Hire the team and develop leaders. Recruit architecture, AI application, integration and automation specialists. Set goals, coach employees, make talent and performance decisions within Oracle processes, develop technical and people leaders and build succession coverage.
What you will bring
· Deep expertise in software or enterprise solution engineering, with breadth across architecture, APIs, integrations, cloud services, testing and operations. Typically 12+ years of relevant knowledge and experience, acquired through education and/or experience, and typically 8+ years of engineering people-management experience.
· Demonstrated accountability for architecting complex engineering problems, execution plans, budgets and cost control. Experience allocating engineering investment across competing priorities and balance staffing, platform and operating costs against delivery outcomes and long-term maintainability.
· A record of hiring multidisciplinary engineering teams, developing leaders, managing performance and building succession plans. Experience coaching managers or directors, or comparable evidence of developing leaders with substantial technical and delivery accountability.
· Very comfortable working in a highly unstructured and ambiguous environment. Create technical direction from incomplete information, test assumptions and adapt plans as constraints change. Lead critical engineering initiatives across organizations and build shared strategy with application-owning technical teams and business owners of functional outcomes.
· A record of delivering and supporting production integrations, applications and automation, including AI-enabled enterprise solutions. Ability to challenge designs, evaluate technical evidence and negotiate commitments with senior platform and business leaders.
· Experience using employee feedback, including eNPS, engagement surveys and effort scores, alongside technical telemetry to prioritize engineering improvements and verify employee outcomes.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Masters preferred
Highly desired experience
· Prior Oracle application experience is highly desired, particularly Oracle Fusion (HCM, CX and other applications) and its extensibility and integration capabilities. Experience with OCI, Oracle Integration, AI evaluation, workflow or policy automation, and enterprise performance engineering is also valued.
· Management or technology consulting experience at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte or Accenture, particularly in engineering-led enterprise transformation.
New hires must be based in Nashville, Tennessee. Existing Oracle employees may work from their current location.
