Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Director to lead Product Adoption and Market Management across BNY’s Domestic Payments portfolio. This product leader will oversee a team of product managers responsible for go‑to‑market strategy, product positioning, commercialization, sales enablement, and market intelligence to drive client adoption and usage across Domestic Payments products, including:

  • Payables and Receivables solutions
  • Instant payments and real‑time rails
  • Account validation and risk‑screening solutions
  • Benefit disbursement and bill pay platforms
  • B2B payment capabilities and integrated experiences
  • Pay by Bank and specialized vertical based solutions

This role partners closely with Platform/Product Owners, Sales, Solutioning, Commercialization, Marketing, Legal, Risk, Operations, Technology and Design to shape the market narrative, launch and scale offerings, and institute data‑driven mechanisms that accelerate adoption, usage, and client outcomes.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Define and execute the go‑to‑market strategy for Domestic Payments, including launch plans, client segmentation, channel prioritization strategy, pricing/packaging input, value propositions, and sales enablement spanning payables/receivables, instant payments, account validation, disbursements, bill pay, pay by bank and B2B solutions.
  • Lead product positioning and messaging frameworks that differentiate BNY’s Domestic Payments capabilities, articulate client value, and ensure consistency across channels, collateral, and sales conversations.
  • Establish and own a market insights engine: competitive analysis, voice‑of‑client programs, market scans, and KPI dashboards that inform roadmap, commercialization priorities, and adoption targets.
  • Partner with Sales and Relationship teams to build pipeline health, accelerate opportunities, and reduce time‑to‑value; develop scalable playbooks, demos, case studies, and enablement toolkits.
  • Work with Product Deliver/Development Leads and Core Product Management Leads across all Domestic Payments solutions to inform the roadmap of products to be built or enhanced, to optimize client experiences across the products and to increase client retention rates.
  • Own business prioritization for market‑driven change requests; work with respective product leads to balance market impact, risk, technical complexity, and client experience to sequence releases and enhancements.
  • Govern adoption risk across commercialization efforts; identify and mitigate risks, ensure compliance with relevant controls, and communicate risk posture to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Platform/ Group Product leadership to influence backlogs, delivery milestones, and readiness; codify lessons learned and communicate progress, dependencies, and opportunities for acceleration.
  • Work with solutioning teams to create client tailored solutions across Domestic Payments portfolio and adjacent offerings (e.g., cash management, account services) to maximize client value and cross‑sell.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a high‑performing team of product managers and product marketers; foster a culture aligned to BNY’s principles (Be Client Obsessed, Spark Progress, Own It, Stay Curious, Thrive Together).

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 15+ years of experience in payments or financial services product management, commercialization, or market strategy; deep familiarity with domestic payment rails and ecosystems.
  • Proven track record driving adoption and usage for digital/payment products (e.g., ACH, instant payments/RTP, wires, account validation, disbursements, bill pay, B2B).
  • Expertise in go‑to‑market strategy, product positioning, pricing/packaging input, sales enablement, and performance measurement using KPIs/OKRs.
  • Data‑driven decision‑maker with experience building analytics dashboards, running growth experiments, and optimizing onboarding/activation funnels.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and influence senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing and developing product managers; ability to recruit, coach, and scale high‑performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree a plus.
