A Day in Your Life at MKS

As Senior Director Controlling EMEA, you will be the driving force behind MKS’ accounting excellence across Europe. You’ll lead daily accounting operations, oversee fiscal close and audit cycles and guide a large, diverse and international team with influence across three divisions and multiple countries.

Beyond operational leadership, you will shape and execute our Finance Transformation roadmap, implementing our target operating model while standardizing, harmonizing and automating processes across the region. Reporting to the VP, Chief Accounting Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in elevating Europe’s financial operations and partnering with global leaders to drive strategic outcomes.

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Leading all accounting operations and financial reporting activity across Europe.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate internal and external financial reporting.
  • Directing statutory audits across Europe and partnering on the consolidated US GAAP audit.
  • Strengthening internal controls, compliance, and policy frameworks.
  • Implementing our Finance Transformation roadmap—driving standardization, harmonization and automation.
  • Optimizing financial systems to deliver process efficiencies and visibility.
  • Championing continuous improvement and best‑practice financial operations.
  • Building, developing and inspiring a high-performing European accounting organization.
  • Partnering with Global Tax and Treasury on tax, financing and structural initiatives.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the CAO, VP Finance, Division Controllers and other members of senior leadership.

Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting; European + US GAAP CPA qualifications required.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • 10+ years public + industry experience; Controller or Deputy Controller background in a publicly traded, scaled organization.
  • 15+ years total experience.
  • Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
  • Deep, current expertise in European GAAP & US GAAP.
  • Strong systems acumen with a track record of implementing process improvements.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building and business judgment.
  • Proven leadership experience: hiring, developing and motivating teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, global matrix environment with high accuracy expectations.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, learning agility and strong executive presence.
