The Role:

The Senior Director of Learning Operations engages with system, divisional, and servicearea teams to advance strategic goals and initiatives across a highly matrixed organization. This leader works closely with divisional directors and managers, servicearea Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs), and clinical operations teams to design, implement, and sustain a standard onboarding and orientation structure across the Central Division, spanning three regions and five states.

This role provides divisionwide oversight, leadership, and support for simulation center operations across all service areas—promoting best practices, standardization, and operational excellence. The Senior Director directly supervises Service Area Directors/Managers of Education & Practice, as well as the Divisional Manager of Mandatory Education, Onboarding, and Clinical Orientation.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as an internal consultant to system, divisional, and servicearea leadership teams to support nursing learning operations and the implementation of best practices.

  • Conduct ROI analyses prior to developing training or educational programs; prioritize education investments in alignment with divisional strategy.

  • Act as a positive change agent, translating and standardizing evidencebased teaching strategies and learning principles into actionable improvements across the division.

  • Develop strong partnerships with operations leaders to jointly plan clinical education activities aligned with business needs, competency goals, and costeffective models of training.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical education trends, instructional design, learner support, and innovative teaching methodologies inside and outside healthcare.

  • Partner with system and division leaders to review, revise, and standardize onboarding, clinical orientation, and mandatory education requirements across divisions and service areas.

  • Initiate and lead divisional projects, applying enterprising skills to design and implement improvements.

  • Implement a standardized approach to onboarding, orientation, and mandatory education in partnership with servicearea and ministry leaders across three regions.

  • Identify key project partners, lead crossfunctional teams, and guide planning, coaching, and execution for all approved projects.

  • Coordinate reporting processes, ensuring timely dissemination of project status updates and deliverables.

  • Lead processimprovement initiatives that strengthen service delivery, organizational effectiveness, and the use of evidencebased teaching strategies.

  • Define, track, and evaluate key metrics; ensure improvements yield positive, measurable outcomes for division and servicearea projects.

  • Maintain expertise in current developments and best practices in clinical education and adult learning.

  • Consult with system, division, servicearea, and ministry leaders to ensure education efforts enhance quality outcomes and incorporate CMS and Joint Commission standards.

  • Provide services that facilitate interprofessional learning, ensuring proficiency and consistent standards across the division.

  • Ensure educational programs and materials are appropriate for the audience and aligned with system marketing/communication requirements.

  • Consult on new technologies, collaborating with decisionmakers, vendors, and external partners to ensure training and implementation needs are anticipated and met.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related fields such as Health Administration, Business, Public Health

    • PhD (preferred)

  • Licensure

    • Registered Nurse License (Vendor Managed)

      • Must hold licensure in all states where care is delivered

  • Experience

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare administration or management

    • 5+ years of experience in education/training with strong presentation capability

    • 2+ years of internal or external consulting experience

    • 2+ years of project management experience

  • Leadership & Competencies

    • Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead divisionwide education projects

    • Strong leadership, critical thinking, prioritization, and decisionmaking capabilities

    • Knowledge of hospital clinical and nonclinical systems, information systems, business analytics, and financial concepts

    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to manage multiple highstakes initiatives in a fastpaced, matrixed environment

    • Strong organizational development and training expertise

Therefore, leaders applying for this role will be required to work a hybrid schedule, which consists of three days onsite, two days remote and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the ministry or service area they support and lead.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
