What You’ll Do

This role drives capital strategy, behavioral modeling, and financial resiliency. The role has significant organizational impact and requires deep financial, regulatory, and risk expertise, as well as the ability to influence executive‑level decisions. This role will be responsible for collaborating with all business lines, challenging credit risk and loss model assumptions, engaging with regulators, and managing reporting to both working and executive committees. This position will also manage the annual NCUA stress test, coordinate capital plan submissions, and provide behavioral analytics on loans and deposits, supplying consistent assumptions for ALM, liquidity stress tests, FTP, and profitability frameworks.

  • Lead enterprise capital planning strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, regulatory expectations, and long‑term financial sustainability.
  • Oversee development, coordination, and submission of the annual NCUA capital plan and templates, ensuring high‑quality regulatory deliverables.
  • Direct cross‑functional capital planning activities across Finance, Treasury, Credit Risk, Lending, Compliance, Model Risk Management, and Internal Audit.
  • Design, implement, and govern internal and regulatory capital planning scenarios, including stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and scenario calibration.
  • Serve as enterprise leader of behavioral models and assumptions for ALM, liquidity risk, profitability, capital planning, and credit analytics.
  • Lead development, validation, calibration, and back‑testing of behavioral assumptions (e.g., prepayments, deposit decay, deposit betas, embedded optionality).
  • Ensure consistent application of behavioral methodologies across all modeling platforms, including ALM, liquidity stress testing, FTP, capital planning, and FP&A.
  • Establish governance structures ensuring analytical integrity, documentation quality, auditability, and regulator‑defensible standards.
  • Provide strategic insights and guidance to executive leadership on capital allocation, balance sheet strategy, project feasibility, and behavioral analytics.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts responsible for capital monitoring, data insights, reporting, and execution of capital planning activities.

  • Drives execution of functional strategies and ensures alignment with broader business goals. Oversees operational performance, resource allocation, and process optimization. Supports strategic planning and contributes to the development of policies, budgets, and infrastructure that enable long term success. Makes decisions with significant organizational impact, often involving complex, cross-functional considerations. Works closely with executive leadership and influences decisions on matters of strategic importance.
  • Oversees a business function at the local or regional level, with broad accountability for operational and strategic outcomes. Responsible for executing strategy and directing operations across multiple teams. Possesses deep expertise in their functional area and a strong understanding of organizational dynamics. May contribute to strategy development and long-term planning for their function.
  • Manages through multiple layers of leadership, typically overseeing Directors and Senior Managers. Sets direction for talent development, succession planning, and organizational culture within their function. Builds strong leadership capability across teams and fosters collaboration and accountability.
  • 4 - 7 Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, Assistant Managers and/or Principal Professionals and below reporting to them.

What You’ll Need

Education & Experience:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in field relevant to role (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree), advanced degree preferred.
  • Required Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience, 6+ years as a People Leader.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with credit risk, loan review, ALM systems, and FTP
  • Experience creating, preparing, and presenting material for regulators, executive management, or audit
  • Experience with financial statements, capital frameworks, RWA, capital ratios, and regulatory templates
  • Experience writing model documentation, stress testing methodologies, and contributions to annual capital plans
  • Deep experience with prepayment, deposit life, deposit beta, and optionality models
  • Experience supporting ALM, liquidity, FTP, capital planning, credit, and FP&A frameworks
  • Strong experience with calibration, validation, and back-testing of behavioral assumptions
  • Experience with ALM platforms (e.g., ZM, QRM, Empyrean)
  • Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills
