
This Senior Director, Biostatistics role leads a global team of statisticians to shape the design, delivery and interpretation of clinical programs, internal governance decisions and regulatory submissions. The work focuses on bringing rigorous statistical thinking to rare disease drug development, from early strategy through to reimbursement and commercialisation. You willbe responsible for
Lead, manage and develop a group ofstatisticians
Leadership to biostatistics staff world-wide
Ensures drug projects are successfully delivered by leading biostatistics support and strategy. This includes Development Plans, Regulatory Strategy and Submissions, high level internal governance committees, Health Technology Assessment and Reimbursement/Payerand Commercial support asappropriate forthe stage of the product.
Leadership to staff on the product world-wide so that all work is carried out with regards to Alexion standards and external regulations
Develop contacts with international and external opinion leaders, consultants, and collaborativegroups
Provide leadership and direction to improvement projects/activities/initiatives
Identify & drive the development &utilizationof leading-edge statisticalmethodology, skills, capabilities, tools, processes & best practice,in order toadd value to drugdevelopment
Lead biostatistics resourcing to deliver projects and input on internal vs outsourcingdelivery
Maintain understanding and awareness of, as well asinvestigate and implement, new methodologies, therapyareaand developmentadvances
MayrepresentAlexion and biostatistics to Health Authorities and Reimbursement/Payer Organizations orhigh levelinternal governance committees for specific projects/indications
Competent program and project leadership
Work according to agreed functional andregional Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) strategyby ensuring proper managementof SHE risks, incidents, reporting,follow-upandimprovements
You will need to have:
MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (containingasubstantialstatisticalcomponent), or recognized equivalent tostatsMSc
Track recordof background in leading independently
In depth knowledge of technical/regulatory requirements with 10 years experience in pharm/healthcare
Exemplary technical skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strongrelationships
Flexible, well-organized, andpossessthe ability to work well underpressure

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $ 221,036.00 - $331,554.00 USD Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
