Job Description

Huron is a global consultancy that collaborates with clients to drive strategic growth, ignite innovation and navigate constant change. Through a combination of strategy, expertise and creativity, we help clients accelerate operational, digital and cultural transformation, enabling the change they need to own their future.

Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

The Senior Director, AI Strategy, Advisory & Partnerships is the senior client advisor and ecosystem architect for Huron’s AI Strategy & Transformation Practice. Reporting directly to the Managing Director leading the practice, this role owns Huron’s most senior AI strategy conversations with healthcare CEOs, CIOs, CDIOs, COOs, and Boards — and the partner ecosystem that gives those conversations leverage.

The role operates at the intersection of three reinforcing flywheels: advisory credibility builds partnership pull; partner relationships unlock differentiated client offers; differentiated offers open the next advisory conversation. You will translate the AI market into client strategy, the client strategy into engagements, and the partner ecosystem into joint go-to-market wins.

1. AI Strategy & Client Advisory

  • Senior Advisor: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to healthcare CEOs, CIOs, CDIOs, COOs, and Boards on enterprise AI strategy, operating model design, and AI value realization.
  • Strategy Engagements: Lead AI strategy and advisory engagements — vision sessions, roadmap development, value lens assessments, AI maturity diagnostics, and AI operating model design — anchored in measurable business value.
  • C-suite Translation: Translate frontier AI capabilities — agentic systems, foundation models, retrieval architectures, agent economics — into board-grade strategic narratives and investment cases the C-suite will fund.
  • AI Governance Advisory: Advise clients on AI assurance, risk, and governance frameworks that satisfy clinical, legal, regulatory, and Board-level scrutiny in healthcare.

2. Partnership & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Partner Ecosystem: Own the commercial relationships with Huron’s AI ecosystem partners — hyperscalers (Microsoft, AWS, Google), foundation model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI), platform partners (Palantir, Databricks, Glean), and healthcare-specific AI operators (Hippocratic AI, Abridge, Epic-adjacent platforms, and others).
  • Joint Go-to-Market: Lead joint marketing, co-selling, and co-delivery motions with partners. Build the deal flow, reference architectures, and joint qualifications that make Huron the partner of choice for healthcare AI.
  • Vendor Landscape: Maintain situational awareness of the healthcare AI vendor landscape; advise Managing Directors, Principals, and clients on build-versus-buy, vendor selection, and platform strategy.
  • Commercial Constructs: Shape partner-inclusive commercial constructs — joint statements of work, revenue-share, and outcomes-based arrangements — that align partner economics with client value.

3. Offering Development & Thought Leadership

  • Offering Architect: Develop, refine, and productize Huron’s AI strategy advisory offerings — strategy frameworks, value lenses, governance models, maturity diagnostics, and accelerators that scale across the practice.
  • IP & Frameworks: Build the reusable intellectual capital that scales advisory delivery — frameworks for AI vision, value capture, governance, agent economics, and AI operating model design.
  • Thought Leadership: Be a recognized voice in healthcare AI through research, whitepapers, speaking engagements, and analyst relationships. Convert market presence into pipeline.
  • Market Positioning: Sharpen Huron’s differentiation against the competitive set — strategy houses, Big Four, AI-native operators — through point-of-view development and offer evolution.

4. Practice Building & Mentorship

  • Talent Development: Mentor and develop junior team members — Directors, Senior Associates, and Associates — on strategy work, advisory craft, executive communication, and client navigation.
  • Business Development: Contribute to practice growth through account expansion, pipeline shaping, and conversion of advisory engagements into broader transformation programs.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Managing Directors and Principals across Huron’s Healthcare, Digital, and Strategy practices to ensure integrated client outcomes and a single Huron voice.
  • Practice Operating Cadence: Contribute to the practice’s operating rhythm — opportunity reviews, partner pipeline reviews, offering refresh cycles, and thought-leadership calendar.

THE IDEAL PROFILE

  • Strategic Depth: Proven experience leading enterprise AI or technology strategy engagements in a top-tier strategy, technology, or Big Four consulting environment — with the substantive depth to advise CIOs, CDIOs, and Boards on complex transformation decisions.
  • Healthcare Fluency: Direct healthcare industry experience (provider, payer, life sciences, or healthcare technology) with command of healthcare economics, operating models, and the AI-relevant pain points across clinical, operational, and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Partnership Acumen: Demonstrated track record of building and monetizing technology partner relationships — hyperscalers, AI platforms, foundation model providers — for joint go-to-market and differentiated client outcomes.
  • Frontier Fluency: Working knowledge of the current AI landscape — agentic systems, foundation models, retrieval architectures, AI assurance, and the unit economics that govern them. Able to hold a credible technical conversation with a CDIO and a credible value conversation with a CFO in the same meeting.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of the consulting sales cycle and the ability to translate technical capability into business value the C-suite will fund. Fluency with outcomes-based and partner-inclusive commercial constructs is a plus.
  • Thought Leadership: Track record of published or platform-delivered points of view that have shaped market conversations, generated inbound interest, or accelerated client trust.
  • Executive Presence: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable navigating a matrixed organization and influencing senior leadership inside Huron and at the client.
  • Growth Mindset: A builder’s orientation — able to operate with ambiguity, originate net-new offerings and partnerships, and convert white space into a repeatable practice motion.

*Ability to travel as needed, flexible living locations across US.
