The Senior Digital Buildings Engineer serves as a dual-domain expert, providing technical leadership across both smart building integration and mission-critical infrastructure. As a Master Systems Integrator (MSI) and Controls Engineering lead, the role orchestrates the design, configuration, and integration of diverse BMS, IoT, and facility management systems into secure, vendor-agnostic cloud environments—such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud—to enable data-driven operational efficiency. Niagara specific expertise is preferred Simultaneously, it would be an added advantage if the role as any experience to Data Center developments.
In addition to client-facing roles and responsibilities, Senior DB engineer is expected to be an active member of the Digital Buildings Engineering team, to make a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support FPC’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this role include:
To ensure smooth integration, optimization, and security of applications on cloud platforms. Troubleshoot issues, manage performance, and align cloud solutions with business objectives. Delivery of technical and some non technical (as training and knowledge allows) related engineering Services and projects for clients in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW) and/or Engagement Letter. Manage own workload, communicating and escalating any issues to line manager accordingly
BMS Controls Engineering & MSI Delivery
Design & Configuration: Author and review BMS architectures, control philosophies, and sequences of operation; oversee the programming and configuration of controllers and graphics for optimal performance.
Building Systems Integration: Analyze and map legacy BMS, HVAC, and IoT systems to ensure compatibility with cloud migration and master systems integration (MSI) strategies.
Cloud Onboarding: Architect secure data pipelines (AWS/Azure/GCP) and establish protocols to ingest, normalize, and process on-premises building data.
Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise-grade cybersecurity through end-to-end encryption and access controls to safeguard critical operational data.
Validation & Delivery: Manage full-lifecycle engineering services per the SoW, conducting rigorous testing and troubleshooting to resolve connectivity and compatibility issues.
Stakeholder Training & Reporting: Partner with IT and Facilities teams to align cloud solutions with business goals while maintaining comprehensive system documentation and performance reports.
Mentorship
Mentor and train DB engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance the overall capabilities of the team.
Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the team in complex problem-solving and guiding them in engineering solutions and customer service excellence.
Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and help develop documentation and training resources for ongoing team development.
