What you will do
As a Senior DevOPS Platform administrator, you will be responsible for developing automation to strengthen the Bank’s RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server platforms, both in our Bank data centers and in cloud. Using strong problem-solving skills, you will leverage automation to continuously deliver, improve and maintain the support of these platforms, strengthening security and operational resilience along the way. This will include automation of patching, performance monitoring and software upgrades, and more!
As you create or update automation code, you will collaborate, communicate and mentor others to pass on knowledge and gather feedback. Along with improving our platforms service offerings through automation, you will provide “day to day” operational support of all of the Bank’s operating system platforms, addressing operational incidents or project work as required. You will provide technical guidance, improvements and support along with assisting in the planning and coordination of tasks for the team. You will assist in performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning of the operating system, and the range of products that support the development and testing of the production environments.
As new issues or needs arise with these platforms, you will take the lens of leveraging automation to continuously improve and avoiding the “one off” fixes to solve a problem. You will follow a software development life cycle to document and test new automation, including planning code releases into production.

Note - The nature of this work will require additional paid on-call as well as paid overtime. These requirements are subject to change but typically involves an on-call rotation within the team of 1 week on-call every month (estimated) depending on capacity and team requirements.

Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant degree/diploma and 7+ years of relevant experience for the Senior DevOps Platform Administrator role
