Senior DevOps Engineer – Java & Angular
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack/DevOps Engineer to join an Agile Scrum team responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based services. The role requires strong Java development experience, Angular knowledge, and a you build it, you run it mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based services and Angular applications in a cloud/service-oriented environment.
- Work across both front-end and back-end development.
- Develop cloud-ready applications using Spring Cloud.
- Perform monitoring, profiling, troubleshooting, and performance tuning using tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
- Implement automated testing using JUnit, Cucumber, Cypress, or similar tools.
- Work with REST, SOAP, JPA/Hibernate, JMS, PostgreSQL, Spring MVC, and Spring-WS.
- Use DevOps and CI/CD tooling such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and Confluence.
- Support and guide external partners in technically connecting to provided services.
- Coordinate proactively with other teams across a complex IT landscape.
- Contribute to innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Take on broader T-shaped responsibilities, including Ops, testing, and analysis activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of Java development experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Angular experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Cucumber experience.
- Minimum 9 years of professional experience at higher professional education (HBO) working/thinking level.
- OCP certification.
- Fluent spoken and written Dutch.
- Strong analytical, proactive, collaborative, communicative, and innovative mindset.
- Willingness to work across development, operations, testing, and analysis.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jenkins, BitBucket, Sonar, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience with automated testing and Citrus Framework.
- Experience in Continuous Delivery environments.
- Interest in innovation and knowledge sharing.
Assignment
- Location: Leeuwarden, Netherlands
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Work model: Hybrid, approximately 1–2 days onsite per week
- Environment: Agile/Scrum DevOps
