Job Description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and evolve platform and automation solutions for RL1 W Platform. You will build and own end-to-end solutions that enable efficient, high-quality delivery of Radio software at scale.

RL1 Platform delivers L1 & Radio Platform for Nokia BTS devices. In our Wrocław based organization we develop and maintain critical software foundations for Radio products, covering RF SW Platform (Operating System, Build System, SW Management) and RF SW MISC (Middleware, Peripherals, Testability).

You will join a development team responsible for end-to-end delivery and development of solutions within the department’s scope, covering design, implementation, automation, and maintenance of key engineering areas.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of key development infrastructure and platform solutions used by Radio SW departments. Your mission is to enable fast, reliable, and scalable software delivery by designing, developing, testing, documenting and troubleshooting tools, automation, and supporting services.

This role combines hands-on engineering with technical ownership: you will actively drive improvements in solution design, developer experience, quality, and delivery efficiency, while collaborating closely with software engineers and technical leaders across RL1.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and own end-to-end solutions within the department’s scope, from concept through implementation to maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Drive development of tools, automation and platform components supporting Radio SW development and delivery.
  • Take ownership of selected technical areas, ensuring high quality, maintainability and scalability of delivered solutions.
  • Analyze complex technical problems, identify root causes and implement robust, long-term solutions across software and infrastructure layers.
  • Collaborate with development teams, architects and stakeholders to align solutions with product requirements and delivery goals.
  • Contribute to and improve engineering standards, development processes and best practices within the team.
  • Lead or support internal R&D initiatives, technical improvements and innovation activities within the Platform area.

You have:

  • Experience in software development projects
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills; good command of English.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and C/C++ build environments (e.g., CMake).
  • Good knowledge of Python and Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker.
  • Experience with Jenkins (or other CI systems).
  • Experience with GitLab and Gerrit (or similar tools).
  • Strong engineering mindset with focus on quality, automation and maintainability.

Nice to have:

  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle in complex systems.
  • Linux and Windows administration knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Yocto, web applications or databases.

What you’ll gain:

  • High-impact role influencing software delivery efficiency and quality across multiple teams.
  • Opportunity to shape platform solutions, automation ecosystem and engineering practices within RL1 Platform.
  • Work in a collaborative, international environment with strong engineering culture and continuous improvement mindset.
