Job Description

Founded in Switzerland in 1968, Zühlke is owned by its partners and located across Europe and Asia. We are a global transformation partner, with engineering and innovation in our DNA. We're trusted to help clients envision and build their businesses for the future – to run smarter today while adapting for tomorrow’s markets, customers, and communities. Our multidisciplinary teams specialise in tech strategy and business innovation, digital solutions and applications, and device and systems engineering. We excel in complex, regulated spaces including health and finance, connecting strategy, tech implementation, and operational services to help clients become more effective, resilient businesses.

If you share our values and want to do the best work, for the right reasons, we can offer you the chance to do it on a global scale and play a real role in shaping our exciting journey.

The Role.

As a DevOps Engineer at Zühlke, you will join a cross-functional delivery team working on a greenfield initiative for a Hong Kong–based client, building a next-generation cloud platform powered by automation, GitOps, and cloud-native engineering practices.

You will play a key role in designing and implementing a GitOps-driven operating model and an “Everything as Code” approach to enable scalable Environment-on-Demand capabilities across AWS. Working at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and software delivery, you will help development teams accelerate delivery through self-service tooling, automated provisioning, and advanced CI/CD/CT pipelines.

This role is highly hands-on and engineering-focused. You will design and implement reusable platform capabilities, improve developer experience, and contribute to scalable, secure, and observable cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, Security, QA, Data, and Software Engineering teams to build resilient systems and continuously improve engineering practices across the delivery lifecycle.

You will also contribute to platform reliability, observability, quality engineering, and operational excellence by integrating monitoring, testing, security, and compliance automation into modern cloud-native delivery workflows.

What’s Important To Us.

  • Strong experience with GitOps practices and tooling such as Argo CD, Argo Workflows, and Argo Events.
  • Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Cloud, reusable modules, and automation frameworks.
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments, ideally using EKS, Docker, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD engineering using GitHub Actions and pipeline-as-code approaches.
  • Experience developing automation and integration tooling using TypeScript, Python, Bash, or Groovy.
  • Solid AWS platform knowledge including services such as EKS, RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, MSK (Kafka), S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and VPC networking.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, distributed tracing, and custom dashboards.
  • Familiarity with automated testing and quality engineering practices, including integration testing, Testcontainers, SonarQube, security scanning, and quality gates.
  • Understanding of cloud security, compliance automation, secrets management, and secure delivery practices.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have.

  • AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect Associate, or Security Specialty.
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate or GitOps-related certifications.
  • Experience within financial services, regulated industries, or high-availability environments.
  • Exposure to chaos engineering, service mesh technologies, and resilience testing frameworks such as Gremlin or Chaos Toolkit.
  • Experience building developer platforms, self-service infrastructure, or Environment-on-Demand capabilities.

What we offer

  • Work life blend: we offer a safe & healthy workplace, with flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home
  • Profit share scheme: In addition to your annual salary, you may receive a profit share defined by the company’s success in the previous year
  • Global and Diverse Zühlke community: witness how colleagues from all our 17 offices across the globe come together to create a unique, positive and inclusive work culture, learning from one another at annual team camps, and celebrating year-end parties and other local festivities.
  • Committed to development: we are committed to the growth of our people and are investing in your development. We’re empowering you to build the skills you need to make a positive impact, both personally and for our clients, today and in the future.

If you feel you don't meet all the requirements, we are still happy to get to know you, learn more about your ambitions and ideas and look forward to receiving your application!
