Job Description

[What the role is]

The Food Manufacturing & Agritech Division drives the development of Singapore's food manufacturing and agrifood technology sectors, in support of the organisation's broader economic objectives. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance the sustainable growth of these sectors by fostering innovation, driving the commercialisation and internationalisation of our food tech companies, supporting their financing needs, and anchoring high-potential international startups in Singapore.

[What you will be working on]

This portfolio plays a key part in driving the development of food technology innovation and companies in the food manufacturing and emerging food technology space. We are open to candidates at both Development Partner and Senior Development Partner levels.

Food Technology Innovation and Startup Development

  • Lead and support work related to the identification, assessment, and development of high-potential foodtech startups, including engagement with relevant industry, research, and investor stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of venture creation support for foodtech R&D spinoffs by working closely with research institutes to support founder matching, technical and business capability building, and corporate engagement to ensure product-market fit.

Ecosystem and Industry Collaboration

  • Develop and implement programmes with ecosystem partners supporting Singapore-based foodtech startups, including assessing the technical merit and commercial potential of startup business plans, in alignment with EnterpriseSG's objectives.

Food Manufacturing Industry Development

  • Account-manage local food manufacturing companies, understand their growth plans and strategies, and identify and recommend assistance to facilitate the capabilities upgrading and growth of the enterprises. This includes supporting their business growth through innovation and internationalisation, while driving productivity and resource efficiency initiatives to enhance the cost-competitiveness of Singapore food companies.

  • Support talent and leadership development initiatives in food manufacturing and foodtech companies to build organisational capabilities and drive sustainable business growth.

[What we are looking for]

Competencies Needed

  • Background in food science and technology, agrifood innovation, or a related scientific discipline, with an understanding of the R&D commercialisation landscape and startup ecosystem.

  • Ability to assess the technical feasibility and commercial viability of food technology proposals, and translate scientific research into actionable business and development milestones.

  • Experience in programme or project management, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholder relationships concurrently.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and develop well-reasoned recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical and business stakeholders.

How We Work Together

We value individuals who work well with others, communicate clearly, take ownership of their work, and are open to learning and improvement. You should be comfortable navigating change and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
