Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and high-energy Senior Development Manager to build and lead development teams that will drive our strategic modernization and automation initiatives for financial systems, including General Ledger (GL) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms. This is a unique opportunity for a creative and intelligent leader with a passion for cutting-edge technologies, a strong track record in delivery, and a deep understanding of finance systems and modern technology transformation.

The ideal candidate will bring vision, creativity, and exceptional communication skills to engage stakeholders, align teams, and deliver innovative solutions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, has a natural ability to inspire and lead, and is eager to leverage Generative AI (GenAI) to unlock new opportunities for our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing organization of multiple software engineering teams. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and "you build it, you run it" ownership.

  • Technical Strategy & Architecture: Partner with architects and product managers to define the target-state architecture. Make critical decisions on technology selection, integration patterns, and data strategy for migrating off legacy systems.

  • Execution & Delivery: Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the modernization program. Ensure your teams deliver high-quality, secure, and performant code on time, managing technical debt and risks.

  • Modern Platform Engineering: Lead the technical design and build of a new platform leveraging modern technologies, including cloud-native services, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

  • AI & ML Integration: Guide your teams in the practical application and integration of AI/ML models. Oversee the development of services that automate complex financial processes and replace manual interventions.

  • Talent Management: Actively recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent. Manage team performance, provide technical coaching, and build career pathing opportunities.

  • Technical Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for business partners and program leadership. Translate complex technical concepts and risks into clear, business-relevant terms.

What do you need to succeed?

  • People Leadership: Demonstrable experience managing managers and multiple engineering teams, with a strong track record of mentoring and growing technical talent.

  • Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical designs, trade-offs, and risks to both technical and non-technical senior audiences.

  • Proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Prior experience in financial services, banking, brokerage, or fintech industries.

  • Familiarity with modern ERP systems and their integration with AI-driven tools.

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
