Your Contribution

  • Responsible for the implementation of development projects for the development of new products and the necessary processes, including the necessary basic research for the Lighting and Imaging BU.
  • Takes on the technical management of the employees assigned to the project.
  • Plans the individual development phases of the projects independently, regarding scheduling and costs and in accordance with the applicable processes; and is responsible for the proper, on-time and on-budget implementation up to the start of series production. Observes applicable guidelines and laws (environment, occupational safety, etc.).
  • Selects external service providers and suppliers together with the purchasing department, qualifies them and monitors their performance in the development process.
  • Designs and specifies the equipment and production lines required for new products and manufacturing processes and is responsible for their commissioning on time, within budget and in the correct manner.
  • Responsible for the qualification and certification of newly developed products and processes.
  • Transfers development results to production as part of a pilot series controlled by him/her, transfers processes and systems to Production Engineering as part of the production handover.
  • Responsible for the creation of process and production instructions. Supports Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality Assurance in the creation of test specifications and product specifications.
  • Supports Application Engineering and Sales in the quotation phase with product calculations for new projects; assumes responsibility for development in customer meetings.
  • Supports the BU's manufacturing plants worldwide in developing solutions to problems on request.
  • Supports continuous improvement measures of the manufacturing plants worldwide on request.
  • Supports QA in the processing of complaints. Plans, coordinates and monitors the necessary test series.
  • Supports global purchasing in the selection and qualification of strategic suppliers.
  • Is an expert in his/her field and contact person for the global production plants and development sites of BU L.
  • Develops technology concepts according to the global role allocation of the R&D centers.
  • Is the contact person and consultant for Sales and Application Engineering and supports customer meetings with expert knowledge.
  • Keeps abreast of and researches the latest technology and development trends, attends trade fairs and seminars and maintains contact with internal and external specialist bodies.
  • Observes the competition and carries out targeted benchmarking by examining competitor products.
  • Leads or collaborates in various projects, including cross-divisional projects.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent.
  • More than five (5) years previous Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience required.
  • Strong technical acumen, problem solving, self-motivated and independent.
  • Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
  • Able and willing to work with others on a team.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.

Total Compensation (Salary + Bonus) Pay Range: $110,000-$140,000
Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
