Job Description

The Opportunity

This role sits within QIC's Listed & Private Market Solutions team and works closely with investment professionals to deliver technology solutions that support investment decision-making and risk management across interest rate, credit, inflation and currency markets.

As part of a collaborative team of developers, architects and investment stakeholders, you will design, develop and support applications that solve complex business and technical challenges. The role provides exposure to modern cloud platforms, AI-enabled development practices and contemporary software engineering approaches, while contributing to the ongoing evolution of QIC's investment technology landscape.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable, business-aligned solutions in a sophisticated investment management environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and support custom software solutions.
  • Partner closely with investment professionals to deliver business-aligned technology outcomes.
  • Contribute to solution architecture and technical design.
  • Conduct peer reviews and champion development best practice.
  • Support continuous improvement across development processes, tools and standards.
  • Work with modern cloud, integration and AI-powered technologies to deliver innovative solutions.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for a passionate and technically capable full-stack developer who brings experience across some of the following technologies and practices:

  • C#, Java, Node.js, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, TypeScript, React and/or Angular
  • Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC), microservices and event-driven architectures
  • CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, TeamCity or GoCD
  • Python and other analytics or data processing technologies
  • Agile development methodologies and modern software delivery practices
  • Applying AI tools and models to enhance software development and engineering outcomes

You'll also bring:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • A collaborative approach and growth mindset
  • The ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within investment management, liquid markets or financial services
  • Understanding of financial products such as equities, futures, forwards and swaps
  • Strong quantitative, mathematical or analytical capabilities
