Build the future of Financial Crime Prevention at SEB

SEB is building a next-generation Transaction Monitoring platform on Google Cloud Platform. Our mission is to modernise critical financial crime prevention capabilities, replace legacy solutions and create a scalable platform that will support the bank for many years to come.

We are looking for a Senior Developer who thrives in complexity.

Many of the challenges we solve do not come with clear answers. Requirements evolve, information is incomplete, and decisions often involve multiple technical, operational and business dimensions. Success requires the ability to navigate uncertainty, break down difficult problems and turn ideas into practical solutions.

Who we are looking for

We are less interested in finding someone who matches every technology, tool or domain requirement and more interested in finding exceptional problem-solvers.

Candidates with backgrounds such as:

Engineering Physics or Engineering Mathematics
Computer Science
Data Science
Physics or Mathematics PhD

are strongly encouraged to apply.

A PhD in Physics or Mathematics combined with software engineering experience can be just as relevant as many years of banking experience.

Experience within financial crime prevention, banking or our specific technology stack is beneficial, but not required.

What you will do

Design and build cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
Help shape the technical direction of our next-generation Transaction Monitoring platform.
Work closely with architects, developers, testers and business stakeholders.
Solve complex engineering and data challenges.
Guide and mentor engineers through technical leadership and hands-on contribution.
Drive improvements in scalability, reliability, security and maintainability.
Promote modern engineering practices, automation and continuous improvement.

What we hope you bring

Strong software engineering skills and hands-on development experience.

The ability to understand complex systems and identify practical solutions.
Curiosity, ownership and a desire to continuously learn.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience using LLMs as part of your development workflow, either professionally or through personal projects.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform, distributed systems, large-scale data processing, Infrastructure as Code and modern software engineering practices is valuable, but we do not expect candidates to match every item.
