Senior Developer / Application Architect (.NET & Angular) – Freelance

Antwerp, Belgium

Start: May 2026 | Duration: Until July 2027 (extension possible)

Full-time | Hybrid

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Developer / Application Architect to join a dynamic development team working on business-critical applications.

In this role, you will act as the technical authority, shaping the architectural direction and elevating development standards. You will balance innovation with stability while contributing hands-on to the development of robust and scalable applications.

Your Responsibilities


  • Define and guide architecture decisions across backend (.NET/C#) and frontend (Angular or Blazor)

  • Act as a technical lead and mentor, coaching developers and promoting best practices

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, business-critical applications

  • Improve and optimize the software development lifecycle (tools, workflows, standards)

  • Collaborate closely with analysts, testers, and project managers

  • Drive adoption of modern technologies, including AI-assisted development

  • Ensure clean code, performance, and scalability across solutions

Your Profile

Must-Have


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in application development

  • Strong expertise in NET / C#

  • Solid experience with Angular (or similar frontend frameworks)

  • Experience as an Application Architect or technical lead

  • Proven experience in Agile development environments

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)

  • Strong hands-on experience in coding, testing, and debugging

  • Dutch proficiency at CEFR level C2

Nice to Have


  • Experience with Blazor

  • Knowledge of API Gateway solutions (e.g. Kong)

  • Experience with OpenShift or container platforms

  • Familiarity with AI tools in development (e.g. Claude)

  • Experience with SQL and database design

  • Experience with Bitbucket

  • Proven experience in team leadership and coaching
