Senior Developer (Analysis) / Tableau / Dashboards

Work Location - Remote (DHS treats remote network access as a privilege rather than a contractual guarantee, allowing work at assigned or other designated locations).
Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship Required; Ability to complete DHS suitability, background investigation, and Entry-on-Duty requirements.
Experience - 5-8+ Years of Dedicated Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Experience.
Length - 1-year Contract, renewable for up to 3 years

Objective Summary
We are seeking an enterprise Senior Developer (Analysis) / Tableau / Dashboards expert to design, build, and optimize high-visibility interactive data dashboards and corporate reporting systems. This critical analytical role focuses on developing data visualizations that integrate complex logic from multiple administrative reports and source databases to support ad hoc querying arrays. The ideal candidate must possess an extensive professional chronology demonstrating roughly 5 to 8+ years of advanced data analytics experience. This timeline should showcase a clear technical evolution in deploying enterprise-grade business intelligence assets within secured environments.
This expert will drive the creation of intuitive executive dashboards, execute strict user acceptance testing, and train federal personnel to utilize dashboard tools for critical after-hours mission responses.
Mandatory Compliance Metrics
Candidates must satisfy these strict gates to ensure a successful Government onboarding determination:

• Resume must explicitly reflect 5 to 8+ years of total business intelligence or data analytics experience with clear dates validating continuous visualization development.
• Direct, hands-on production engineering mastery creating enterprise-level interactive reports, custom filters, complex parameters, and drill-down architectures within Tableau.
• Written proof of writing advanced database queries and executing data source integration routines utilizing complex SQL scripts.

Principal Responsibilities

• Architect, configure, and maintain production-grade Tableau data dashboards that simplify complex administrative tracking and operational data vectors.
• Blend and integrate contrasting data pipelines, schema layers, and transactional record structures into unified, high-performance visualization layers.
• Design advanced calculated fields, level of detail expressions, custom parameters, and logic trees to enforce rigorous data validation thresholds.
• Diagnose dashboard bottlenecking, optimize query structures, troubleshoot data refresh failures, and tune extraction pipelines for maximum speed.
• Implement robust security structures across published assets, incorporating row-level security frameworks and access parameter constraints.
• Engineer inclusive, accessibility-aware dashboard layouts optimized for color-blind variance, screen-reader navigation, and universal federal usability compliance.
• Conduct end-to-end user acceptance testing, author structural system documentation, and run structured training modules for non-technical executive stakeholders.

Core Data & Architecture Capabilities

• Expert-level dashboard design patterns utilizing Tableau Desktop, Tableau Cloud, and advanced visualization toolsets.
• Complete mastery writing advanced relational SQL queries, data source mapping definitions, and structured database analysis logic.
• Functional knowledge of Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration workflows, site roles, and publishing permissions.
• Practical understanding of integrating external mathematical calculation scripts derived from Python, R, or SAS processing layers.

Governance, Clearance & Government Infrastructure

• Comprehensive familiarity protecting sensitive unclassified government information, administrative assets, and critical PII structures.
• Direct experience operating inside large federal data environments under strict data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Ability to handle high-frequency reporting deadlines, urgent ad hoc data calls, and fast-paced agency request windows.

Preferred Domain Expertise

• Direct experience building executive-level analytics arrays for DHS, CBP, ICE, USCIS, Census, DOJ, or HHS operational components.
• Prior background parsing federal law enforcement telemetry data, border security metrics, or immigration tracking statistics.
• Possession of a formal Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Certified Data Analyst credential.
