Project Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Developer, preferably with exposure to cloud architectures and public cloud offerings, to join a team building a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud-based settlement platform. The role spans requirements refinement, architecture, design, and implementation — including writing code, building automated tests, and creating CI/CD pipelines following best software development and DevOps standards. This is an agile environment requiring direct interaction with users, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional technologists. The ideal candidate is technically strong, delivery-focused, and comfortable moving fluidly across development, data analysis, testing, and stakeholder coordination to drive successful outcomes rather than focusing on a single discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in refinement sessions to ensure requirements are clearly defined
• Write clean, performant, scalable, testable, and reusable code, and build automated tests
• Guide and mentor junior developers on best software development practices
• Follow DevOps best practices — build CI/CD pipelines and enable telemetry capture
• Contribute to enhancing team standards and improving engineering processes
• Design and implement high-volume messaging and REST-based middleware
• Define scalable database models, relational or otherwise
• Move fluidly across software development, data analysis, testing, and stakeholder coordination to drive project execution

Mandatory Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience building distributed, event-based systems using agile practices
• Sound understanding of microservice architecture and design patterns, system resiliency, scalability, security, and observability
• Strong working knowledge of core Java, Spring Boot, and other Spring Framework features
• Experience designing and implementing high-volume messaging- and REST-based middleware
• Experience defining scalable database models, relational or otherwise
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
• Familiarity with cloud-based development principles
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Fast learner with a strong desire for continuous improvement

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Experience with Angular
• Familiarity with Kafka and MongoDB
• Prior experience in FinTech application development
• Experience working within a global delivery team
• Banking domain experience is an added advantage, not a dealbreaker
